I've been meaning to do this a while (I think I even mentioned it). If just for me, so I have a permanent(!?) record of them when they hit me. Then Ryan posted the Dylan McKay picture the other day, so...

From my drive home: the Smashing Pumpkins single "1979" was released in 1996, which was 20 years ago but only 17 years after 1979.

Actually, it's the opposite for me. I used to have a Clash t-shirt. What makes me feel old is seeing them in t-shirts of bands I've never heard of.

I watched the teaser for the Nintendo Switch and all I wanted was the regular controller.

On our commute this morning while stopped in rush hour traffic, I notice a private plane that had just taken off from a small airport on my side of town. For some reason, I thought of Payne Stewart and how he passed, then spent like 5 minutes trying to imagine going like that and why don't we hear about it happening more often. Get to work and open up Twitter and the first thing I see is a Tweet from the PGA account about how today is the 17th anniversary of his death which a) really fucking weird that I'd randomly think of that today and b) holy crap, 17 years ago??

That also means Mickelson's daughter is 17.

Right, but if they tried to perform them on stage, they'd bomb so bad it'd look like a Learjet hit the ground in South Dakota at an incredible rate of speed and disintegrated everyone onboard.

And Tom Cruise is 3 years older than Wilford Brimley was during Cocoon.

Definitely didn't go to Tower Records on South St. (Philadelphia) to get that DMB album when it was released at midnight.

And I definitely did go to the Tower records on Guadalupe St. (Austin) to get that DMB album when it was released at midnight.

I also picked up Ben Harpers' Will to Live that night. Jammed them both in a greenbelt the next day eating vodka soaked watermelon. Good times.

What makes me feel old is that *I* am older than Pat Morita in Karate Kid, and Wilford Brimley in Cocoon. And older than Danny Glover was when he was "too old for this shit."

Man, I forgot how much music in the late 90s suuuuucked.

There's atleast 5 good ones on that list.

One thing that makes a guy feel old is seeing his high school girlfriend on Facebook, and barely recognizing her because she now looks like an ugly, grandmotherly old crone.


(Of course she may say the same thing about me, as well.)
