I just don't get the need to shoplift. You are getting an all expenses d paid trip to china. Why steal shit? Enjoy the experience and go home. So so weird.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
Re: NCAA College Hoops 2016/2017
It's good to have connections.
Freshman LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, and two UCLA men’s basketball teammates were released on bail early Wednesday morning in Hangzhou, China, after being arrested the previous day for allegedly shoplifting...Ball and freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill remained at a luxury hotel in Hangzhou , a source told ESPN...
The trio is being required by local police to stay at the hotel until the legal process is complete while their Bruins teammates traveled to Shanghai for the team’s season opener Friday (American time) against Georgia Tech, according to ESPN.

So the trio is coming home. What political costs did the US have to do to help on this one. Reports say there is video. You have to kick them off the team right? Maybe school?

Um, no?
Re: NCAA College Hoops 2016/2017
What would the suspension be if they did it in the States? A game? So maybe double it because it was overseas and there you are.

Thomas Finnie of Miami got booted from the football team for a $500 laptop theft.
Peter Warrick got 2 game suspension for the Dilliards incident.
L. Coles got booted from the team for Dilliards event.
In 2010 UCLA expelled 3 football players for felony theft.

Whoa, gonna be tough for anyone to counter those five examples of serious ramifications over that last 20 years.

Paragon of virtue Steve Alford at the helm, so let's see....
All three sat out the Georgia Tech game in China.
Two more games would mean they sit out guarantee games at home against Central Arkansas and South Carolina State.
They could mercifully be reinstated in time to play against Creighton in the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City on national television (and #25 Baylor or Wisconsin the following night, also on national television if they win and make the championship game).
So, three games total sounds about right.

Here's betting/hoping that the students at opposing schools find some imaginative chants/taunts/outfits to use at UCLA's away games.
Lock them up! Lock them up! Lock them up!

Donors shared their thoughts....color more shocked...shocked I tell you.
Re: NCAA College Hoops 2016/2017
If they're thinking in terms of half seasons, then they should just suspend them for the entire non-conference schedule. Doubt anyone would argue that isn't unreasonable.

The fun thing about "indefinite" is you can have stuff like Krzyzewski suspending Greyson Allen indefinitely last season and bringing him back after they lost the first game without him, but they talked and stuff.

Exactly. I bet this suspension lasts until they need those guys to win.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2016/2017
I probably shouldn't, but I'm going to give UCLA the benefit of the doubt that they will make this hurt because it was a fucking international incident for chrissakes.

How quickly will it be forgotten? Gonna guess for most who don't follow college basketball, pretty damn soon. Keeping them suspended is the only way it has any extended life.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2016/2017
Nah, its pretty smart. A suspension of 5 games will have people screaming its too light. If they're back after 5 games of indefinite suspension in two weeks, 75% of people who would scream will have moved on.

So it was all freshman...what are the chances this comes out as some kind of rookie hazing/dares?

Gonna have to wait until next season unfortunately.
I was hoping he'd be able to step right in as this is a young team, but they're actually doing really well so think they figure a redshirt year is the way to go.

MI has a kind of weird hodge-podge team this year, but they just beat Texas on the road after a crazy OT win at home over UCLA. Just putting a pin on this win, because I suspect they're going to be a bubble team and this week is likely what puts them in the big dance.
