This is what would happen if Barstool did a story about how women are equal to men.

I saw that over the weekend. What I want to know (but not enough to look up the article and read through the comments) is whether Breitbart keeps those comments around or deletes them.

Some fucking wackadoodle from ABQ drove to Austin with the intent to kill Gavin Free and Meg Turney.

Luckily, he couldn't find them and cops got to him as he left the house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dont know who they are, but found this description of the lunatic to be not surprising at all...
Christopher Giles, who police described as “single, lonely and disturbed,”

If we could get all of the right-wing wackos to kill all of the useless YouTube and Instagram "stars" taking them all off of the streets then we might be getting somewhere.

Rapaport must have an incredible agent because he gets a ridiculous amount of sports media attention for a D-List actor. I don't understand how anyone ever decided we should care about his opinions, and yet he's had numerous appearances with ESPN, Bill Simmons, Barstool, etc.

I've never listened to his podcast, but I thought he was funny as hell on both Simmons' podcast and WTF. He walks that line between truly dumb and actually insightful. It's kinda unique.

I suppose it's worth it for the irony that there's probably a Venn diagram where there's a LOT of overlap of "agrees with Laura Ingraham that LeBron should stick to sports" and "Michael Rapaport talking about sports is interesting and hilarious".

I’ve always thought that Rapaport gives off that obnoxious, fake tough guy vibe that is common among people who really, really want you to know that they’re from NYC.

One of those people is not Rapoport.

WHAT COLOR IS THE FUCKING DRESS?

All I heard was Yanny. Then I watched The Crooked Media guys post their video on Instagram..

Now I hear Laurel.

But when I click back to the first link I hear them both simultaneously. My brain can't take it.

I work in Laurel.

This is weird.

I hear Laurel, half my office hears Yaurel and a few hear Yanny.

This is much weirder than the dress thing.

We all heard something different from the same recording with no prompt as to what we were listening for. Really odd.

and THAT's where this is like the blue/white/gray dress thing comes in... Our eyes and ears process things differently and that fucks our collective shit up to think about.

I mean, there are people that are "color blind" so it's not a huge stretch to me that we all have slightly different rods in our eyeballs that take thing to our brain differently in really minuscule ways. Hadn't occurred to me that our earholes would be the same, but it makes sense.

Except that it doesn't and is a mindfuck.

I very clearly heard Yanny but now I'm thinking I got a version of the recording that someone fucked with, because most people say they can hear Laurel?

I listened to the same clip as my fiancée last night (on the same device) and I clearly heard Laurel and she only heard Yanny. I didn’t tell her why I was having her listen to the clip so she wasn’t messing with me either. It boggles my mind but apparently it’s a thing with which frequencies you hear better.

This. My wife is a speech therapist, and she mentioned learning in grad school that she had a frequency gap (I think I have that named wrong), where there were certain frequencies she couldn't hear at all. We all listened to it on the same device at the same time, and Yanny comes through prominently for me and my sons, and she only hears Laurel. My oldest and I can somewhat hear Laurel if we try hard, but she and my middle son are polar opposites.

I can't hear Laurel at all, which is one of the things that was so surprising. I was prepared to be able to feel like I could hear both. I just need to know if that means something is wrong with me or if I'm the one who can hear right and everyone else is wrong. Someone tell me!

(j/k I realize it's not a "right" or "wrong" thing. I hope.)

I listened for a while last night, because a lot of folks said it eventually changes for you. But I was Yanny the whole time. I tried to listen for Laurel - some folks said it was at the lower frequencies - but I couldn't hear it.

I can't fathom how it could be possibly heard as Yanny, but enough seemingly sane people claim to ehar it that I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Not until my Yanny peoples have built our own IDF or ICE-like force to pre-emptively kill all of the Laurel people for being infidels.

Just played on my nice headphones and I hear Laurel in the original.

This video shows why. The lower frequencies pretty clearly say "Laurel" while the higher frequencies say "Yanny." So cheaper computer or phone speakers probably do a fine job with high frequencies, but aren't big enough to properly represent the low frequencies.

The other factor is that a lot of folks don't hear high frequencies very well, so they're going to hear "Laurel" no matter what.
