Apparently I take this back. We traded 16th for Poku, then sold Poku for $750K, then used 1/2 that to buy the 3rd overall and the 16th back. MLS is very confusing.

Our D is really, really bad and we had enough depth up front to usually be sitting someone decent and to give Patrick Mullins away at the deadline.

Yeah and DC United appreciated getting Mullins...D.C. just picked up another Terp in the 1st round (defender).

Talent in the MLS draft drops off pretty quickly after the first 5-10 picks, so unless there's a standout within there that fills a need it's more about grabbing value. (Disclaimer that I'm completely unfamiliar with this years draft pool.)

I just saw Lewis compared to Nagbe so I've changed my mind and its the best pick.

So Ian Harkes signs with DC United. Herman trophy winner playing for the same team is dad's played for. Wondered this was a first as the league is not that old..nope

Teal Bunbury's dad Alex Bunbury played for the KC Wizards (99-00). Teal played for KC for 3 years and now with the Revs.(And I did not realize Teal's Sister is the lead in the Fox baseball show "Pitch")
Konrad Warzycha's dad Robert Warzycha played for the Crew 96-2002. Konrad played for Sporting KC (1 game) Carolina Rail Hawks (1 game), and Columbus (13 games). Option not picked up when Robert lost the job as Crew's Head Coach

Other father son mlsers
Adolfo and Jose Adolfo Valencia (2012)
Onandi and Damion Lowe (2014)
Roy and Ariel Lassiter (2015)
David and Jesus Ferreira (2017)

Concacaf Champions League changing back to cup format. Phase 1 are minnows playing for 1 slot. Phase 2 gets 4 USA team, 1 Canadian, 4 Mexican, 5 Central American teams, 1 Caribbean. Some overlap between qualifiers for Phase 2 and teams who will play in Phase 1 tournament.

Goal was to line up a little better with MLS season (so MLS does not go into knockout before regular season)

Original Gooch (not that no fangled one at Sunderland) is training with the Union. Nobody is talking about him signing but rather staying in shape and ready to fill a need. How can this guy not get a contract somewhere? Bad MLS team at low wage NASL (maybe a gig that helps him move to coaching). At 34 he is old but not ancient. I mean Boswell is 32 and Beasley is also 34.

Moved like he was 34 when he was 24?

(Old USMNT players are about the only ones I can have knowledge of that spans more than 36 months.)

Saw their ad in Times Square this week. Will it be as effective as this?

That was inevitable. Would love to see him take a staff position at PTFC but he could just as easily go to RSL or Rapids.

I don't see him wanting to come back here, with Kreis and Lagerway gone.

Looks like he's sticking around PTFC in some capacity (sounds like broadcasting). Also Grabavoy is now our head of scouting.

We got all your dudes.

Wonder if he played with Cameroonian striker Yermas Dildo who was a big transfer rumor from January

So DC still does not have the final green light on the new stadium (could come tomorrow), but they do have a sponsor. Audi Field. Interesting last year DC's player salary's were just over 5 Million. The naming rights on the Jersey were $3 Million. I know DC will upgrade some players when they get the new field but the Audi thing and chunk of expansoin fees should turn around the finances (luxury boxes, parking, concessions...which DC does not get great deals at RFK) very quickly. Hope the owners put the $ into the guys on the field instead of just catching up on years and years of losses

A good pick-up. He was a real asset in our 2015 cup run with his possession and defensive abilities. Has a good cross and shot (natural left footer). He's not a burner and won't break down fullbacks on his own but he's great with combinations if he has good ball handlers around him. He's a natural left winger but can also play fullback (as he's been doing in Brazil for the past year). I'm pretty sure PTFC would've signed him if one of our starting CB's hadn't of gone down.
