I was not feeling that putt tracker at all. The shot tracker is great, and most of the new technology really enhances the broadcast. But I don’t see what the putt tracker does other than to spoil the fun. And for CBS of all people to roll it out, the ultimate fuddy duddy, whose target audience is 72 years old—I can’t believe they did that. It made Tiger miss those putts, I’m convinced of that.

He was fucking both Shoney's waitresses and bottle service girls in Vegas though. Very democratic. Legendary sports gawd overcomes his demons/addictions/injuries to win one last title in his sunset years? Disney movies have been made from less.

Amazing!

And from the TV coverage, it looked crowded, but not ridiculously so. Could you move around easily?

well, my experience was unique. personally, I could, relative to everyone else.

but in the times that I wasn't able to exercise that privilege? noooooope. the main concourse areas near 1/10/18 were jammed and had no traffic flow. and then there were multiple areas where you couldn't move very freely until Tiger/someone else more popular had vacated the area.

I saw estimates of 50K there each weekend day and I could buy into that. numerous golfers commented about how crazy the crowd size was.

I went to a practice round at the Masters one year while Tiger was still in his prime. If you wanted to actually see Tiger, you had to stake a claim at a hole at least a couple of holes ahead of his group. Then, when the huge mass of Tiger followers came through, it would be incredibly crowded. You weren't going anywhere until he was gone. I don't know how the folks who actually followed him were able to see anything.

If he were to get four birdies and four pars in the last eight holes, might be a nice-10 round.

I can't believe East Lake looks the way it does considering it's been 90 degrees with no rain for like a month now.

I know this isn't exactly news, but if Tiger gets back to being a real competitor on a weekly basis, it would be the best thing for the popularity of the PGA since... since Tiger was previously a real competitor on a weekly basis.

I've been in Atlanta since late Wednesday and for work and couple of rounds of golf. Played Marietta CC and Atlanta CC as well as walked around East lake all morning before heading to the airport. Those clubs have no issues with money and watering. All 3 courses where lush and gorgeous. From what I understand today, Eastlake is all corporate members now....

I would give the nod to Atlanta CC.

I’m happy Tiger won but I guess I’m gonna have to be the guy who points out it was only a 30-player field. (Albeit probably the 30 best golfers in the world.)

I barely follow golf, but the Tour Championship is different from the PGA Championship and thus not a major, correct?

Yes. I think it's the last tournament on the calendar, and the winner gets a $10m annuity, but I don't watch much anymore and I might be mixing up a few things.
