When the games really matter, the Burlington Sports Frogs put on their best show, beating the Wilmington Creditors by a final score of 6-5 today. A_B earned player of the game honors, as he went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Burlington now leads Wilmington 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

sancarlos was the walk-off hero for Burlington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sports Frogs shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," sancarlos told the Burlington Observer.

The next game is set to be played Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at Heimlich Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Brian for the Burlington Sports Frogs and Ron Thompson for the the Wilmington Creditors.

I like how our attendance at the Grounds is greater than any current MLB stadium. Dodger Stadium holds 56K and we drew 58997 to Game 2.

Carwash are you only responsible for on field GM duties or are your also responsible for ticket prices and such? If so did we meet our season ticket, sponsorship, attendance and TV rating goals?

The Burlington Sports Frogs made it look easy and are heading to the League Championship Series.

They have ousted the Wilmington Creditors in a sweep, the final win coming by a 5-4 score, clinching the 3-0 series win.

"Everything's clicking for us right now," said govmentchedda, who was named MVP for the series.

The Burlington Sports Frogs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Halifax Machines - Utica Clubs series. Halifax leads the series 2 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.

I don't know what sort of algorithm resulted in chedda getting series MVP based on one three-inning appearance, but congratulations I guess.

- Corpus Christi defeated Shreveport, 3-2
- Oxnard defeated Parma, 3-2
- Corpus Christi and Oxnard will play for the Shrew Conference Championship

You'll see a new poll regarding our Game 1 starter for the next series. By strict order, our #4 starter TT would be next, but with the extra days off all our starters are rested and we could skip ahead to our #1, Sabo. Halifax will be starting their #1 guy, Chris Plank (13-2, 2.22).

Looks like starting Sabo for Game 1 is the runaway winner, so I'll go ahead with that plan. Sorry TT, but you're still guaranteed at least one playoff start.

The Conference Championship Series got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling Burlington Sports Frogs taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the host Halifax Machines. Burlington right-hander Sabo was marvelous at Sarah McLachlan Stadium and was named player of the game. The Sports Frogs now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Sabo was in the zone all game. He frustrated Halifax hitters while giving the Sports Frogs 8 innings of quality work. Sabo threw 116 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 7 punchouts.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Sabo said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Degenerasian for Burlington and Frank Lemus for Halifax.

TIn a crucial game, the Halifax Machines put on their best show, beating the Burlington Sports Frogs by a final score of 5-4 today. Jose de Alba earned player of the game honors, as he came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters. Halifax and Burlington are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Adam Shover hit a run-scoring double off Shirley in the bottom of the ninth, which put the Machines in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Shover had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Shover said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 3 is set to be played Thursday. Slated to start are Odmar de Boer for Halifax and Brian for Burlington.

The Burlington Sports Frogs got a strong performance from pitcher Brian, who stymied the visiting Halifax Machines en route to a 6-2 win in Game 3 of the Conference Championship Series today. The Machines could never get a bead on the right-handed Brian, who threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs to earn player of the game honors. The Sports Frogs now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

sancarlos aided the Burlington cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.

"I just love going out and having a big game," Brian said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Green Mountain Grounds in Burlington. Slated to start are Robby Moran for the Halifax Machines and TT2.0 for the the Burlington Sports Frogs.
