It's hard to hear all the casual misogyny and homophobia now, but I still think "No Vaseline" is the best diss track of all time. That run of solo albums Ice Cube had in the late 80s/early 90s are amazing.

So while I'm not the biggest 2Pac fan and I am the biggest fan of a lot of the targets, "Hit 'Em Up" is #1 by a mile for me. "Drop a Gem on 'Em" is a top 5 on its own and it still wasn't nearly a sufficient response.

That one was pretty damned brilliant.

Has anyone dissed the Wu-Tang Clan? Or were they always above all the "feuds"?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

I think they were too busy fighting with each other to fight with outside groups.

DirecTV on my flight yesterday had a Yo! MTV Hip Hop show on. The videos for Gin n Juice and Fight for Your Right are strikingly similar.

Speaking of that, I really wanted to give the Chiefs credit for blaring Beastie Boys in the stadium Sunday but they managed to use the only Beastie Boys song I don't like. That's like going through Zeppelin's entire catalog and deciding to track up Hats Off To Roy Harper.

You shouldn't be allowed to use artists who aren't from your city.
