Addison Russell now being investigated for domestic violence so we're still on pace for everything to be terrible for the entire year.

Yeah. Sure am glad I broke my longstanding rule against personalized jerseys.

Hell, I even sponsored his page at B-R when he came up. So of course it's going to turn out that he's a scumbag.

For now, I'm holding onto the belief that he's young and stupid, that everyone does bad things, and that he can learn and grow.

I thought so!

Ugh. I can still hope that his being young and stupid and growing up in a disadvantaged environment means that he can learn and grow as a person. But I can't root for him until there is clear evidence of that. I really hope the Cubs suspend him for the rest of the season. Today.

Also, I hate the trade for the Cubs. I really like Quintana but Jimenez falls under that "the kind of prospect you can't just get back" umbrella. Second time in two years they've done this and we all know how last year worked out.

Or, they could both end up disappointments.
