Also, if I'm testuser or his wife, I'd probably feel OK because I'm pretty sure this might end up being the safest marathon in America at this point. I suspect they'll double-down on whatever they were already doing (which is arguably another reason they won't feel like they can give refunds since I'm sure their security costs and costs to hire LVMPD to work the event are likely going up).

Las Vegas gunman shot security guard a full six minutes before opening fire on concertgoers, police reveal

Pretty big change to timeline that was out there, since the police previously said Paddock stopped shooting when the security guard interrupted him. No answer yet on whether the guard notified hotel security, and if so why not.

Metro (Las Vegas police) released a preliminary report.

Not sure how much interest there is, but it's interesting if for nothing else that because of the state of surveillance with cell phone records and the sheer number of cameras in Las Vegas that Paddock's almost every movement can be tracked for a week before the shooting up until it happened.

Man, I'm self-conscious about making any request of hotel staff ever. Nothing here was unusual?

Nothing I saw. Maybe the amount of luggage for one person a couple of times he was being helped by the bell staff, but nothing not easily explained by your being joined by family members later.

You'd probably be surprised at the kinds of requests casino hosts, valets and bell staff get every day. Nothing here would have even moved the needle a little bit.

The sushi chefs at the casino I frequent in Reno told me a couple weeks after the shooting Paddock ate there "all the time" which seemed to me at the time to be probably them exaggerating that he was in there a few times but considering the report has him eating at the sushi place at Mandalay Bay at least three times before the shooting I'm thinking that's probably very accurate.

Don't worry guys, Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) is here to tell us what happened. He has credible evidence that he hasn't verified and won't even hint at, that the massacre was done by ISIS coming through the Mexican border.

Classic - they haven't debunked a ridiculous theory, therefore, the theory must be true.

Yup. And ISIS said they would attack, then took credit, so it must be ISIS. ISIS threatens every city every day, and takes credit for every attack or natural disaster. This guy is a fucking loon.

I have a pretty kickass idea for a documentary if I had any funding and anyone who knows anything about shooting a film.

LVMPD releasing its final report on the shooting today. Not sure it's going to be a Friday news dump type situation since most of the information has already been picked over (and ultimately the FBI is leading the investigation and won't be releasing its report until later in the fall).

I missed this initially, but this guy is a legit hero.

Airman receives medal for heroic action saving lives during 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting

But the fact that it took 3 years for him to pin it is bullshit.
