Agreeing to what terms? Admittedly I wasn't paying attention to Stanton (I know he signed that gigantic contract two years ago)..

Seems like that franchise has been cursed by some trickster god to be blessed with a once in a generation type talent and then trade him away for magic beans every 10 years.

They had terms worked out with S.F. and St. Louis and Stanton vetoed both.

I think even Donald Trump would recognize that as a bad negotiating strategy.

His literal words aren’t wrong. His implication clearly is. I love that a 45 year old dad’s weekend can be ruined by sports.

It wouldn't surprise me if teams are offering "exploding" offers to take advantage of Jeety bird or whoever the acting GM is.

Yeah. Of course, it's actually kinda moot since Duquette (who apparently has no more fucks to give) announced the other day the Orioles don't believe in the posting system. Samesies as a couple years ago when (Dexter Fowler) it was made known Angelos steadfastly refuses to deal in player options.

Kinsler traded to Angels.

In a related story, the Tigers might be lucky to not lose 100 games next year, especially if they trade Fulmer as well.

Man, I just don’t love Fulmer and double don’t love the expected cost. Cole just makes so much sense. Or, if going real big, shoot for Archer.

Cole makes more sense considering the cost.

this feels like the epitome of playing for the wild card. which given the state of the other non-Washington teams, seems feasible if they clean up in the division

but still, I wouldn't bank on that strategy. or pay for bullpen help like they are

There’s like a 72 hour clock where they trade Hoskins for a NAME and it all makes sense. Otherwise, they needlessly devalued one of their few valuable players.
