Wish there was a way to quickly organize in this country. We should be shutting this country down until this is stopped (and then mobilizing for the next outrage). Even 10 percent of the country participating in a general strike would bring parts of the country to its knees.

"We are going to have..." lowers voice for dramatic effect, "a space force."

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Like there are no words for the idiocy of this.

And when I do get to heaven, I hope that part of the cable package includes "The HELL Channel" so we can watch Mike Pence being sodomized by demons.

I was thinking that we should somehow convince himself that the "Emperor of Space" is a bigger job than his and convince him to take it and then we can just fire him off into orbit around the Earth for the rest of his days to play space emperor. It's a win-win.

Space is currently being handled by the Air Force.

https://www.airforce.com/mission
The mission of the United States Air Force is to fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace.
So, I'm kinda like, whatever about this development. It isn't going to happen and seems like another troll job. I think this was brought up last year and Mattis shot it down. I'm more annoyed at the lack of 2(!) Oxford commas in the Air Force's mission on its homepage.

Trump's Trade War Escalates
The vow of retaliation was reiterated by a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Geng Shuang, at a daily press briefing. “We don’t want a trade war, yet we are not afraid of a trade war,” he said.
And why a trade war? On the one hand, the US is being fleeced by its trading partners because of a series of "bad deals!"

Yet at the same time, according to the huckster in chief, the economy has never, EVER been stronger.

From The Times:
Kip Eideberg, the vice president of public affairs and advocacy at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which represents major American exporters like Caterpillar and John Deere, said the additional tariffs were “terrible news” for his industry.

“It will effectively wipe out all of the gains that our industry has seen from tax reform and regulatory relief,” he said. “We should be creating more jobs, not wiping them out.”

Among many other things, this boggles my mind. Best economy ever! So let's make massive changes to immigration policy, trade, taxation, etc.

Getting back to the indictment stuff, the judge's ruling revoking Manafort's release is great. To revoke bail, a judge must address whether there are any bail conditions that would eliminate the risk of harm to the community by leaving the accused free. (The harm to the community is Manafort's witness tampering.)

The judge said that it didn't matter whether there were any such conditions, because Manafort's prior actions show that he wouldn't comply with any conditions anyway.

So now Manafort gets to sit in a cage. Just like all those criminal four-year-olds.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

So if this is really the Democrats' fault for this child detaining policy and particularly Obama who did things like this that went unreported on due to his status as "the Messiah", are they saying that Obama and the Democrats were too tough on immigration?

Very few of the people on Twitter bragging about Trump's economy by citing the stock market actually own stocks, IMO. This seems pretty clear to me.

Every time this orange mistake opens his mouth, I lose $500. GET OUT OF THE WAY TRUMP.

Yes, I got back in because I didn't want to wait as everything dragged on though I do still think it's coming. I'm probably going to play that angle with shorts.

Yeah, plenty of immigration activists have criticized Obama (and Bill Clinton) for overly harsh immigration and deportation policies. But Trump and Sessions are taking things to a whole new level of cruelty.

Yup, Sessions especially (Trump knows shit) is using this 'no kids can be in federal prison' loophole to punish families. I hope congress can close this loophole but not with the slimeball Cruz's law. He just being pressured by Beto O'Rourke.

The UNHRC is a fountain of hypocrisy, focusing on Israel while ignoring worse violations everywhere else. Not that Israel is immune, but if you listened to the UNHRC you would think that Israel was the worst violator since the Nazis

Trump's support is in the mid- 40%.

I know, I know, there are apples and oranges here, but clearly, CLEARLY, a significant portion of the electorate is fine with everything that is going on. Fucking humans.

I have long believed that a huge percentage of Trump voters support him because of his racism and cruelty, and not in spite of that. Republicans have been dog whistling to racism for decades and apparently a very large percentage of their supporters are fine with making the subtext into the text.

Long time GOPer Steve Schmidt just quit the party:
29 years and nine months ago I registered to vote and became a member of The Republican Party which was founded in 1854 to oppose slavery and stand for the dignity of human life. Today I renounce my membership in the Republican Party. It is fully the party of Trump. It is corrupt, indecent and immoral. With the exception of a few Governors like Baker, Hogan and Kasich it is filled with feckless cowards who disgrace and dishonor the legacies of the party's greatest leaders. This child separation policy is connected to the worst abuses of humanity in our history. It is connected by the same evil that separated families during slavery and dislocated tribes and broke up Native American families. It is immoral and must be repudiated. Our country is in trouble. Our politics are badly broken. The first step to a season of renewal in our land is the absolute and utter repudiation of Trump and his vile enablers in the 2018 election by electing Democratic majorities. I do not say this as an advocate of a progressive agenda. I say it as someone who retains belief in DEMOCRACY and decency. On Ronald Reagans grave are these words. I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph and there is purpose and worth to each and every life. He would be ashamed of McConnell and Ryan and all the rest while this corrupt government establishes internment camps for babies. Everyone of these complicit leaders will carry this shame through history. There legacies will be ones of well earned ignominy. They have disgraced their country and brought dishonor to the Party of Lincoln. I have spent much of my life working in GOP politics. I have always believed that both parties were two of the most important institutions to the advancement of human freedom and dignity in the history of the world. Today the GOP has become a danger to our democracy and values. This Independent voter will be aligned with the only party left in America that stands for what is right and decent and remains fidelitous to our Republic, objective truth, the rule of law and our Allies. That party is the Democratic Party.
>
>Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen is responsible for executing this immoral child separation policy. Where exactly is the line she would be uncomfortable crossing? She was not jeered out of that restaurant because of TSA pat downs but rather because of her complicity in evil. Evil has always been abetted and enabled by moral midgets and bureaucrats like Nielsen. One day when this vile era has passed and her shame and deeds are etched into our national consciousness she will no doubt say something like this: there is a need to draw a line between the leaders responsible and the people like me forced to serve as mere instruments in the hands of the leaders. I was not a responsible leader, and as such I do not feel myself guilty (Adolph Eichman). She is no Eichman but represents an archetype found throughout history and always present at moments where the dignity of the human spirit is assaulted by corrupted power. She is the loyal and obedient factotum who cannot distinguish between right and wrong. The soulless bureaucrat most interested in the perks of power; motorcades and planes while breastfeeding babies are taken from their mothers and locked up in internment camps. She was booed out of that restaurant because, as all of the complicit enablers will soon discover, the public spaces where decent people gather will keep getting smaller for all who serve this venal administration and vile President.
