Because the name "Obama" is thrown out by Trump. Therefore it is not an American problem, it is a Democrat issue.

This is the sort of thing that really makes you despair over the health of the country. That so many ignore a central threat to the nation for the purpose of playing partisan politics. God only knows what would have happened if these people were in power during WW 2.

I don’t think it’s because they view it as a “Democrat problem.” I just think they genuinely don’t care about it because they won. The same way they wouldn’t care if the Koch Brothers pooled their money to bribe a bunch of state officials to commit election fraud. It was evident from the 2000 Florida election fiasco — well before Obama, Trump or Russia came on the scene — how much the GOP cares about the sanctity of our democratic process.

Just straight line it back to where conservatives get their national news - Fox News. There was a tweet yesterday showing how far you had to scroll down their website buried the most recent news on the Russian interference. They simply don't talk about stories that hurt the conservative viewpoint, burying it for things like the change of the cheeseburger emoji instead of reporting the Manafort indictment.

Plus it doesn't help when there's this pathological necessity on behalf of more liberally slanted news sources to be objective by having both sides present.

When one side brings an expert with facts, evidence, and logic and the other brings a Tasmanian Devil with gish gallop to a "debate" amongst "pundits" and it's painted as "equal," it's bullshit.

This is the crux of Michelle Wolf's stand up and the part I linked earlier about how the liberally slanted media makes itself culpable in all of this.

Let Fox be Fox. Let everyone else say, "Nope, that's bullshit." But instead profits reign and the Jerry Springer method of presenting the "news" wins out.

Democrats also need to give serious thought to pushing for some significant structural changes. Because the Electoral College, gerrymandering, and equal distribution of Senators, regardless of population, all allow for what’s essentially one-party rule by a political party that doesn’t even have a majority. The GOP has won the popular vote for the presidency only once since 1988 (in 2004) and yet it controls every branch of the federal government and the vast majority of state governments. Democrats are almost allergic to pushing for big changes, but they are up against it for the foreseeable future regardless of Trump. Just typing this out frustrates me because it reminds me that the 2008 Election gave the Dems a once in a lifetime opportunity for a second New Deal but they wasted that chance by listening to the likes of Lieberman, Geithner and Rahm Emanuel.

I've genuinely not seen quite this level of agreement on Trump doing an awful thing prior to now from even the right. Even the Fox types seems taken aback.
