Then isn't it good this came up, so we can have the discussion? Isn't that what's happening? Men and women (the reasonable ones) are actually talking to each other instead of at each other for once. I haven't even see any women suggest his career should be over, but putting the breaks on him selling himself as some kind of expert in relationships or dating seems pretty reasonable. If you're selling yourself as some kind of expert at dating or relationships, then it's kind of newsworthy if in fact you're just as hopeless at it as everyone else.
My wife and I had a long discussion about the Aziz situation last night. One of her points was that damn near every woman has a story like Aziz's date, in that they were put in the awkward position of having to fend off someone who was pushing the boundaries of what she wanted to do.

We also went through the Megan Ganz/Dan Harmon stuff, which was quite good.
I think that it's common is pretty well-established, I'd be curious to hear what her take on this situation is given that understanding/assumption.

I don't believe she thinks anything criminal happened. I think she's bummed that someone whose work she liked would be pushy about sex. She definitely doesn't think Aziz is the victim in this situation. I'm curious how both of us will feel when rewatching Master of None, or watching anything else he does from here.

I've tried - unsuccessfully - to avoid this story as it is so irritating, but my wife went on a rant last night that was pretty much a paraphrasing of the one by Ashley Banfield.

Apparently the author of the article responded to Banfield, attacking her personally, making fun of her hair, age and irrelevance. She hit a homerun in her response. She kept it classy, where she easily could have gone off, but put the author in her place in a strong way.

Here's the author's response to an invitation to come on Banfield's show.
It's an unequivocal no from me. The way your colleague Ashleigh (?), someone I'm certain no one under the age of 45 has ever heard of, by the way, ripped into my source directly was one of the lowest, most despicable things I've ever seen in my entire life. Shame on her. Shame on HLN. Ashleigh could have "talked" to me. She could have "talked" to my editor or my publication. But instead, she targeted a 23-year-old woman in one of the most vulnerable moments of her life, someone she's never f------ met before, for a little attention. I hope the ratings were worth it! I hope the ~500 RTs on the single news write-up made that burgundy lipstick bad highlights second-wave feminist has-been feel really relevant for a little while. She DISGUSTS me, and I hope when she has more distance from the moment she has enough of a conscience left to feel remotely ashamed — doubt it, but still. Must be nice to piggyback off of the fact that another woman was brave enough to speak up and add another dimension to the societal conversation about sexual assault. Grace wouldn't know how that feels, because she struck out into this alone, because she's the bravest person I've ever met. I would NEVER go on your network. I would never even watch your network. No woman my age would ever watch your network. I will remember this for the rest of my career — I'm 22 and so far, not too shabby! And I will laugh the day you fold. If you could let Ashleigh know I said this, and that she is no-holds-barred the reason, it'd be a real treat for me.

Thanks,
Katie

The "I will remember this for the rest of my career — I'm 22 and so far, not too shabby!" line to me is met with the instant rebuttal of "because you'll fade away into complete and utter uselessness very soon".

Frankly, the author is using this story to catapult herself in the industry, the same thing of which she accuses Banfield. Of course, she's far too stupid to realize it.

Steve Wynn!

Based on what I've heard (my wife works for Wynn Resorts) this tracks.

Will be interesting to see the fallout from this. This isn't a Weinstein situation. Steve Wynn is worth several billion dollars and has a pretty tight hammerlock on his board of directors. But could/should hopefully bring him down.

In all seriousness, when I saw pictures of Wynn yesterday, my initial thought was 'Was he in some horrible disfiguring accident or something?". When I then read that he's just had way too much plastic surgery, I thought "Wait...he wanted to look like that?".

He's also blind so it's not like he can really see himself anyway.

(He's actually literally legally blind but is too vain to admit it. When he walks through the halls of his casino he has two security guards on each side who are there less for security and more so that he knows where to walk.)

Warren Kinsella - who posted the story - is (for Canada) a publicity hound and shit disturber. Which in american terms means that he'd be on PBS. While his reputation isn't perfect, I don;t think he's making this shit up.

9) Gretzky - Not "powerful" in the way Kinsella would use it.
6) Donnely Rhodes recently died.

3) I have been working at home for 21 years, so unless the girls from the KPop videos that Degen posts can hear me, I'm off the hook.

I really can't guess who this could be. He's not the type of guy to point a finger at any show biz types - politics is his forte. Don't think Trudeau Jr. is the answer here. But I can guarantee one thing - whoever it is will get everyone in The Swamp other than Degen and myself heading to Wikipedia to figure out who it is.

Red Green..., Ha! Nobody is more powerful than 24 time Juno Award winner Anne Murray. I'd say she is going down, but she already did, which is what got her in trouble in the first place.
