Jungle Jim's is one of my favorite places on the planet. I always make a stop every time I go back to Cincinnati.

Two of their chicken dinners came to me with under cooked chicken. Didn't notice it the first time and got food poisoning, looked more closely at the 2nd one and cooked the chicken more. Love their apple cider with pulp though.

Feels like a mistake. Every time I go to a Wegman's or other supermarket, the comparable items are priced the same or higher. To cut prices, they're almost definitely going to have to cut quality and 100% of the people who shop there do so for the (perceived?) higher quality.

WF's quality is largely a matter of perception. There's probably plenty of room to cut down their margin. Also, they're shifting more focus toward prepared foods and in-store dining (because millennials). I'm curious to see how those fare in any price reductions (I'm guessing they won't drop much.)

I think the big news is they're going to integrate discounts for Prime members and integrate Prime as the "shopping club" for accumulating credit, presumably anywhere on Amazon.com or for WF items. It's not going to be anything spectacular but if you already buy some of your stuff there and you're Amazon Prime, then you're likely to save some money.

My brother (who works for WF) wants to get the F out since the merger was announced.

He believes that they'll lose the benefits and salary that make WF a good place to work.

This part I hate. Let the lazies go to Trader Joe's and the restaurant here went from just fine normal stuff to an inexplicable BBQ theme.

The Whole Foods within walking distance of my apartment already has in store dining, a patio, and beer on tap. Plus I already have Prime. So that'll be awesome and interesting.

Prime is maybe the one optional financial purchase in my household that's a no-brainer. We get our money back on that in free shipping alone. Add in streaming music and video and it's a must have.

And some idiot will present findings that a greater percentage of samplers end up buying the product after instituting this policy.

Just returned from a trip to our local Trader Joe’s. I’m pleased to report that the samples I enjoyed were FREE!

You can drop dead. (some flavors of) LaCroix are the best. I almost never drink soda anymore.

You consider sparkling water and soda the same thing? Is this like a soda/pop thing?

Should I have explained that I rarely drink sugary soda? Is that a different category?

Hmmm ... I think they're all fizzy drinks, so the soda vs flavored sparkling water line is drawn based on sweetness, if that makes sense.
