NFL Week 16 - we're talking about playoffs!

Post by brian »

The Lions losing to the Bengals in Marvin Lewis' final home game with the Bengals in full-on tank mode and the Lions with playoff hopes with a win would be the Lions-est and Bengals-est outcome ever.

Correct. Lewis staying would be the Bengalsiest thing ever.

Also, Brian. You are fine. A team that has already quit and is badly hurt at key positions, is going to likely be starting two back-up Ts this week too. For anyone in fantasy championships, pick up the Lions D if you can.

I have Stafford in my Fantasy Championship!

Speaking of playoffs, it hasn't been this close for the Bills in a decade. all they have to do is go to Foxboro and win.

I personally think the Bengalist thing they could do is a tie.

Eh. Does tying let Marvin keep his job? If so, then, ok.

Bears -6.5 vs Cleveland.

Again, John Fox is 0-7 as a favorite while the head coach of the Bears.

I love the Cleveland ML In that game. I'll probably take the points too as a hedge in case Chicago eeks one out.

My William Hill app has +240. I just bet it now because I think the late/pro money comes in on Cleveland over the weekend (unless anything crazy happens like suspensions or injuries, etc.)

I'm going to wait on hedging the points though because it's +6.5 now and if by some chance it creeps to +7 I want to jump it.

I feel like the most under-reported story in the NFL is whatever is going on with Andrew Luck's shoulder and whatever else is ailing him. I had no idea he had to go to Europe for treatment. What the hell is that about?

I see the Ravens losing to the Bengals in their last game at home (Marv’s last game)and missing the playoffs. “Win one for Marvin” type of shit. Lock themselves right into that coveted 20th pick in the draft.

They don’t like Marvin enough to do that.

One caveat - their pass defence is really bad. But even so, in terms of yards given up, the Browns are mid-table.

Still, their offence has gained more yards than the bills and the Ravens. This team - statistically speaking - looks like a team with 5-8 wins.

Hue Jackson - 1-29!

Listen, if a Pats fan won $30 million in the lottery, he'd be bitching that it wasn't $32 million.

and no one there cares about the Bruins. Hard cores of course, but they're a deep 4th when it comes to rooting. (and I fucking hate the Bruins, so as a fan of the other 3 franchises this makes me happy.)

What’s funnier to think about - the odds 40 years ago of the Vikings being the first team to play at home in the SB or the same odds 4 months ago?

Kind of surprised other teams complained about this considering every team does it (though obviously not with a player the caliber of Aaron Rodgers).

Out walking my dog on a nearby golf course this morning. Sunny day, fresh snow, people were all friendly, dogs running around playing happily. Filled me with optimism and happiness. So much so that for a brief moment, I convinced myself that the Bills are going to win today.

So far the Patriots are doing their best to make it happen, but the referees just aren't letting them.

Tie game in the 3rd quarter - I told my daughter that it was as good as over. Seen this game many, many times.

Brady now 28-3 against the Bills.

So turned to the Lions game, and maybe someone can explain to me why Caldwell didn't challenge that Tate catch/near catch. Did he forget that it was a must win game?

That is so awesome!

Some Bills fans are trying to get riled up over that Benjamin end zone nonsense. But you know, the Pats beat them easily playing at half speed.

Screw it.

And Merry Christmas Johnnie. You seem alright for a Pats fan.
