I did it a bunch of times at the old Vet and then once at new Yankee. Its very peaceful if you have space to yourself, less fun if you're surrounded by groups and families.

Right, but that kinda depends on the stadium. At Yankee, the only wide open areas are usually the ones where they shoot you if you try to sneak in.

I bought the cheapest ticket available and haven't sniffed my seat. This is really a fun way to catch a game. Different vantage points every inning.

Going to the Isotopes game tomorrow. The view is excellent and the tickets are cheap.

CBS Sports wrote: The Mets could promote him to High Class-A soon, and here's why: money. It really is that simple. Tebow has provided a huge boost to ticket and merchandise sales. Fans want to see the guy play. From J.J. Cooper of Baseball America:
Based on the April attendance data, the Tebow effect appears to be roughly 2,210 fans per night. Minor league teams estimate that the average fan will spend $20 per person if they come to the ballpark. That counts ticket sales, concessions and souvenirs. So Tebow is worth roughly an additional $44,200 per night.
Right now, the Mets do not benefit directly from Tebow's popularity. They do not own the Columbia Fireflies. They do own the St. Lucie Mets, however, their High-A affiliate. That's the next level for Tebow. A promotion to St. Lucie means all that extra ticket and merchandise revenue goes directly into the Mets' pockets. That will be the driving force behind a Tebow promotion, not his performance.

This seems like a pretty good deal. If you live in Pittsburgh and/or can get to the stadium without too much trouble. And don't mind standing.

The Oakland A's recently announced a $19.99 per month pass. (So, take that, Pittsburgh). It was pretty successful and they sold out their allotment quickly, then pulled the offer.

Astros did something similar in May. 59.99 for all M-Th home games in May (12 games). They send you a message the day of the game with the seat location and you accept or deny.

An old friend I haven't seen in a couple years just texted me and told me he has a couple great seats at Thursday's Athletics vs. Red Sox game and do I want to join him at the game? So, I got that going for me. Which is nice.

Speaking of Oakland, with Las Vegas as the new Triple A affiliate for the A's and with Oakland playing in a dilapidated shitheap and a new stadium opening next week in Las Vegas, players recalled from Las Vegas to Oakland will actually be going to a smaller clubhouse with fewer amenities. (The video board in Las Vegas will also be larger than something like 9 or 10 MLB ballparks.)

Yeah, that stadium in Oakland is a dump. The ownership keeps coming up with new places in the area for a new stadium, but various interest groups keep shooting them down.

Won't be going to any more Monarchs games (I went to one)

In less than 15 years, they went from drawing almost 10,000 fans a game in the AHL to moving their final ECHL home playoff game to some squirt rink in Exeter because of monster trucks.

Went to the Brewers-Nats game yesterday afternoon. The Brewers just sent their pitchers out to die. I know they went long and late with lots of arms on Saturday night but holy cow, Wilkerson and Anderson were just left in their to get shelled. 8 HR, 5 in the first 3 innings. Anderson threw 71 pitches in 2.1 innings of work (10ER), and Wilkerson threw 80 in 4.1. For a team that is in the hunt for the playoffs, not sure you should just give one away.

Last minute family trip with my office's season tickets tonight. Philly is still at 1/4 capacity for a few more weeks (going to full capacity when the Yanks come to town on 6/12), so I felt comfortable enough to go, at least more comfortable than I would be next month if they get anywhere close to the 44,000 the Bank will seat. Horrible game for my Phils, but the best outing I've had with my kids who are now 6 and 9. Attentive the whole game, asking why they threw it to this base instead of that, wondering why everyone was leaving early when the game got out of hand and hoping that we would stay until the end, which we did. Oh, and they got on the Jumbotron, which they said would be the highlight of their weekend, no matter what we do Saturday and Sunday.
How do you all get your death notices since I left?
