So was Sterling Morrison, jerk.
Truth. He’d be in the role of George Harrison bridging Lennon & McCartney. Of course, that means Andy Warhol is freakin Yoko.

(For the record: I rank the Beatles as Lennon/Harrison (1 and 1a), McCartney and insert drummer here).
That’s probably unfair to Paul if you’re talking overall contribution to the group and not tabulating a list of best songs or something.

FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK!*

MI had to go up to a regional pod that had them play Northeastern in the first game and then BU after they upset Cornell in their first game.. In Worcester** MA, about, I dunno 10 minutes from both campuses.

* I know you didn't ask.
** pronounced Woostah.

Jellyfish - Spilt Milk

This album may as well have been a followup to XTC's Skylarking. Just a power-pop gem lush with dense vocal harmonies and a quasi-psychedelic musical style that screams Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) and Jeff Lynne (ELO). A joyously complex LP. And to this date, an all time favorite.

*This is one of those bands that would've been fucking huge if bands like Nirvana hadn't caused a paradigm shift to what was and was not playable on pre-internet radio.

Fine, you wanna go jellyfish, Imma keep that shit going.

I'm a it preoccupied, so I won't have a writeup for this one. This album just grabbed me and it still stands up.

The Eels - Beautiful Freek

If you haven't dipped your toes... this is a pretty fantastic album.

ETA - Between Frozen Four periods... I'm not saying this band was groundbreaking, but they just seemed to be onto something very different at the time. Really a great sound they created.

What I remember most about that weekend (beyond the stellar music played) was the fact that multiple police officers just drove slowly through the parking garage blaring their sirens. Fun stuff.

I'll never forgive myself for not seeing this band live. Great sound and this one is a regular front to back for me.

BSF's always getting stuck on a long vinyl weekend selects:

This will make mister d feel good. All weekend long while I was away from computer on a road trip, I kept thinking how I couldn't believe I forgot about Sturgill and I'll just end this and take him (different album). Then I log-in and see this.

I'm sticking with Whiskeytown.
