I think Vegas comes out and has their best game tonight. I think if Vegas wins tonight, the Caps better win at home in game 6 because i truly believe VGK wins game 7 at home. I hope all this comes true and will likely lose my voice tonight trying to will the first part to fruition.

But....

If it must be that the Caps hoist the Cup, I hope the third is a blowout (poetically 4-1) so we as a group can simply stand and cheer the last five minutes for this team for this ride. It has literally been unimaginable from the start to now for good reasons and bad and as unique a sports experience as any fanbase has had. I fully appreciate all its twists and turns.

I hope we break the tradition of booing the Commissioner. As a hockey fan, I understand it and have fully supported it but without him this year doesn't happen and he deserves our thanks.

If Ovie hoists the Cup tonight, I will cheer with the Caps fans because I am first and foremost a hockey fan and appreciate his and the team's struggle to finally get there.

Enjoy whatever the Hockey Gods choose to give us tonight.

Go Knights Go!

So the Knights do a canned pregame video before every game with Vegas celebrities pumping the fans up and no joke about 90 percent of the Caps fans here booed Bryce Harper.

So is that not interference bc of the two players battling in the crease. Seemed like the LV player kicked out Holtby’s skates.

Of the GI calls in the playoffs that seemed the most cut and dried. There’s nothing Perron can do about getting tackled in the crease.

I wasn’t saying it was GI, just clarifying that because Perron was engaged w a Cap in the crease that it would nullify the int.

Watching guys carry the Cup around the ice is seriously the coolest and most emotional thing in all of sports. Nothing else comes close.

I have no voice. I cried like a god damn baby, hugging my son while they skated the trophy around the rink.

You guys are the epitome of what being passionate, not asshole sports fans are all about (even you mister d).

Probably shouldn't be at work today. I'm a total waste of space.

And, obviously, congrats to brian and rams butt on a ridiculously awesome year. I don't need to tell you guys shit about what you just experienced... To even be at the dance is something a lot of fans (caps fans up until last night) would kill for.

Fascinated to see where GMGM goes from here, five years ahead of a "realistic" vision of being a legit contender.

I will let nonlinear pick but throw out suggestions of
1.) sad knight (found a good one on image search)
2.) Tom Wilson pounding someone
3.) The RMNB "We are Not Going to Be Suck This Year" or "White Russian in a Big Cup"
4.) Ovie Lifting the cup

Shutout. Thing was probably "sold" out in less than 5 minutes.

It's gonna be weird for the Mystics to sit through a second half listening to Caps chants.
BTW my daughter was given a ticket by “a cute boy” to get into Cap One. She wound up in the front row and rushed the court at the end. She’s my damn hero.

Partying after winning the cup looks like fun. Caps are drinking hard. Keg stands, lots of empties at the Nats game, jumping in fountains at the Georgetown Waterfront, tatoos, spraying people in Arlington with Champaign from the roof of Don Tito's.

Fantastic

Markets I would like to see win their first Stanley Cup, ranked:

1) Las Vegas
2) Buffalo
3) Winnipeg
4) Saint Louis
5) Minneapolis
6) Nashville
7) Phoenix
8) San Jose
9) Vancouver
10) Columbus
11) Miami

I spent more time on this than I should have and the rationale is mine and mine alone and obviously doesn't weigh the relative merits of some fanbases over others exclusively, though that was a factor.

This is a cool exercise. I'm not going to rank them this minute, but with no offense intended, I truly feel like you guys will appreciate a Cup after just a little bit more pain.

Well, I'm not rooting for Buffalo in a theoretical Buffalo/Vegas Stanley Cup Final, so it would be silly to suggest otherwise. That said, I was OK with Washington winning given how long the fans have suffered and that the team is mostly easy to root for, so I imagine it would be similar for Buffalo.
