The Boys In The Cave

Post by Pruitt »

This story is freaking me out.

I was obsessed with the Chile miners a few years ago. This one is getting there as well.

This is my wife's new obsession. She's riveted. The fact that we have three sons of our own may have something to do with it. The last thing she was this nuts over was missing Melania.

Torrential rains expected over the weekend. I cannot imagine having to teach these kids how to use scuba gear and then try to make them get out using it. The professional divers have been struggling!

struggling----one of the former Seals (not a US one) helping died moving equipment in the effort. I am thinking this is not just simple scuba but probably stuff that even goes beyond the nut job divers who go into sunken boats.

Hadn't seen that. Terrible. Apparently you have to remove your tank at certain points or you can't fit through.

Yeah, which made me wonder if there is an old school technique of hoses or something that could be used instead of tanks.

Elon Musk has offered to send SpaceX and Boring Company engineers to offer assistance. He has also suggested the possibility of running a long nylon tube through the tunnels and inflating it so that the kids can just walk out like they walked in.

4 more out this morning. Loved this paragraph from the story on espn.com
"This morning they said they were hungry and wanted to eat khao pad grapao," Narongsak said, referring to a Thai dish of meat fried with chili and basil and served over rice.

Hyperbole my man. Of course I'll watch it.

This story needs more cross-dressing!

What are these boys doing in this cave? Seems like a strange place for a soccer team to be, even stranger than Yankee Stadium.

Yup. Shamelessly using this entire incident to self-promote, while others do the real work, so that everyone still thinks of him as the “cool billionaire” next time he mistreats his employees or serves on another Trump advisory board.

This one is worse, because it involves the very real possibility of drowning. If the miners had lost oxygen, they'd have all mostly just "gone to sleep."

Drowning scares the shit out of me, even though I love being in the water. A group drowning?
