Tonight I had a 'santa fe mule', made with hatch green chile infused vodka. It was damn good.

So am I reading Jerloma's Facebook post correctly in that he thinks there isn't enough melba toast in Chex Mix? Because a present-day bag is like 90% of that shit.

Is melba toast the brown flat chips? Because if so, let me know where in Indiana you find those bags, because those are tasty.

These (see the arrows). J-Lo thinks they're the best part of snack mix, which is insane. I'd pay double price for a variety without them.

Best parts of Chex Mix, ranked:

1. peanuts, which it used to have until like 20 years when they got cheap and lame
2. pretzels
3. smaller brown Chex
4. squiggly stick things
5. larger yellow Chex
6. the ground-up debris at the bottom
7. eating the bag
8. flat chip things

I thought "crouton pancakes" referred to some odd sort of battered breakfast food.

Chex Mix isn't really a thing up here. Bits & Bites are a common snack food however.

Since the takes are all over the place here, I'll throw out another one: the Gardetto's pretzels with the mustard powder are the best commercially-available snack food.

Of all snacks, I like pretzels the least.

Not the thick chewy ones, but the thin stick-type. Terrible stuff.

The only time I like pretzels is when doing a sampler flight at a brewery. Otherwise straight to the bin.

The bag of long straight hard pretzels is where it's at. Otherwise the can of planters cheeze balls is the best (apparently discontinued) salty snack food.

Planters just had special release of the cheeze balls at our local grocery store. Out of stock with in two days. Now they just have the Cheeze Stix or whatever they were called.

Last night I reverse seared steak and that's shit was incredible. (When Costco has a 4 pack of 2 inch thick New York Strips for $37, you can't pass it up.)

I cooked them at 235 degrees until internal temp was 130 then for 45 seconds on each side and the edges I seared it in olive oil. I would've also done butter, but I'm not doing dairy right now.

You just simply do not need a grill to cook great steak.

Edit:

And not for nothing, with 280 characters per post on Twitter, you can articulate a point with proper grammar these days. Symon's post irrationally pisses me off. I'm almost glad a dude thinks he can make a better brisket in a crock pot.
