Summer 2018

Post by rass »

It's dead, DSG.

Today is the last day of camp. Next week is a gap week (thanks mom for driving up here to hang out with the kids!), the week after that we're at the shore, then Labor Day, another day or two to cover and school starts.

I'm not sure if it was the 9 or 10 weeks of renovations that made the summer feel unsettled or as if we were constantly in a holding pattern, but zoom...

Remember this video? I was going to try and describe it but a youtube comment called it his "Zoolander period" and I can't top that.

Last day at our kids' respective camps, too. My wife is taking the kids to her dad's tomorrow for their first bridge week (I leave for a long work trip on Wednesday), then have the second gap week at home (State Fair!). Her mom is coming up for the first two weeks of school until I get home.

The project I am working on sucks. Part of the pitch was if the first two projects go well (this and one in October), it could turn into four annual projects. It sounded good when pitched, but at this point...

Turn it up, sabo.

Yeah, these things tend to be cyclical. Good news is that none of it is health-related. Bad news is that Bills' season is about to begin.

Summer doesn't end here until hockey season starts (and really not until about October 15 even then).

My daughter's move-in date for college isn't until Sept 20, so summer is long this year.

Wow. That seems late. How does their school year run?

Not sure how late they run. But a lot of the universities out here are on Quarters rather than Semesters, and the timing for others schools on Quarters is similar. I do know they have a shorter Christmas break.

Besides for the whole 'getting semi-fired and having to find a new job' its been pretty good. Not enough sailing though.

Yea but I’m not convinced you’re even Sabo anymore after that picture you posted. I think maybe this is an MiB Edgar situation.
