As for the Bears, I would be borderline giddy. That was a REALLY clever offensive attack, and Trubisky looked the part too. I think they are going to a be a lot better, and soon, than I had been giving them credit for.
Last night was a very nice encapsulation of the Bears fan experience.

I didn't get to see the first half, but from texts and tweets, it seemed like everything was going their way. At the same time, after scoring ten points on their first two drives, they had a pair of three-and-outs and a turnover on downs before the FG to open the third. The defensive score is a bit of an illusion because it helped create the 20-0 margin (hey, points count any way you get them), but under 300 total yards, 4.5 yards per play, and under 4.9 yards per attempt doesn't make me that excited.

Nagy said after the game that he felt the offense didn't perform as well as it could have because the players didn't have enough reps in preseason. One of the papers cited they got over 2,000 reps in camp, so it seems like preseason game reps is what he's talking about. While guys like Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel didn't play due to injury recovery, this is the same coach who sat his starters in both their fourth and fifth preseason games.

So, while I agree the arrow is pointing up, last night's good feeling from the first half has to be tempered, and not just because Rodgers played the second half.
I got no dog in this skirmish, but, as a neutral observer, your QB moved well in and out of the pocket and kept his eyes downfield well. He threw some absolute ropes. You have two legit running backs that complement each other, and a coaching staff that is happy to use both. Your coaches schemed some really great plays in the first half especially, looking like a part of the NFL next movement that the Eagles offense used last year. In the end, you got beat by your personal boogeyman (it's what the Steelers do to the Bengals, the Pats do the Steelers, the Chiefs do to the Pats, etc.), but it took a crazy comeback to do it. Only thing that your new coach should have done differently is know that on 3rd and 1 he should take two shots to get the first down rather than kicking it to go up six. Given how inept your offense was a year ago, this looked completely different to my eye. You have legit reason to hope, I think.

I agree. The Bears coaches got scared in the 4th - but that was a once in a season miracle that beat them.

I wish I was a Bears fan... a long season has begun in Bills country.

Everything factored in, I am happy the arrow is clearly pointed up. I just think that now that what the Bears will run for real is on tape for the league, they won't have that first half to jump on an unsuspecting opponent. Obviously, the Pack made defensive adjustments at halftime, as well as Rodgers' return and changing the tempo.

I understand it's a once in an X amount of time comeback, but as soon as I saw Rodgers coming out of the locker room, looking like he was going to play, things turned. Obviously, he is otherworldly, but I just don't think the turnaround is coming as quickly as a lot of people are positing (some of the media reaction has seemed over the top, even for "Week One Overreaction in the Hottest of Hot Take Generations").

So a Bills-Lions Super Bowl is not in the cards?

Honestly not sure what's worse, the Lions or this play-by-play person.

I’m not upset about this. This is hard to explain but it’s kind of euphoric. Like an orgasm almost. I’m free of this shit. It’s like beating cancer.

I get it.

Early on in the Bills game I realized that the worst-case scenarios about the team were probably all true, and that I would in no way be obligated to spend a hunk of my Sundays with the team. Liberating in a way.

I totally get the feeling, it's like being unburdened, a release of tension. I wouldn't put much stock in that game, the Jets are the best team in the NFL this year, and will make a lot of teams look terrible.

Also, on last night's Jet/Lions game:
Also not helping: Jets defenders knew which plays were coming.

"We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line," linebacker Darron Lee said of quarterback Matthew Stafford, via ESPN.com. "We knew his signals. We knew everything. That's just preparation as a defense. ... It seemed like we were in his head as a defense."
