That’s anti-social media.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

So if those of you with Android phones, could do me a favor for my new company?

Our app (a COVID verification/passport app) has a pretty bad rating in the Google store. That's partly because people tend not to give good ratings to functionality apps like ours (i.e. you're more likely to give a review at all, much less a good review to a "fun" app) and partly because of a recent bug that is being fixed in this next release.

Anyway, the bad rating can effect if they choose to allow the app to stay on the store*. We think with this new update as well as some outreach to happy customers to try and entice them to leave a good rating that we'll get the rating back up about 3.0 (where it would be safe). We're not looking to make this the "best rated app" on the store or any bullshit like that. There's no prize involved, this is just to "fix" the rating a bit to where it should be. I've been working with the app and testing it for the last three days and I can tell you it does work great for what it's supposed to do (if you're worried about some kind of morality issue with recommending a shitty app, which I frankly kind of understand even if the ratings don't really mean shit personally).

Anyway, if you have an Android phone, could you simply download this app and give it 5 stars?

Simple as that. You don't even have to interact with the app or set anything up. I would appreciate it. (By the way, if you live in Indiana or the NYC/NJ area (amongst some others) I would strongly recommend setting up your vaccine certificate for realz because we're getting a shitload of business in those areas and you're bound to need it at some point anyway it's looking like. We have a contract with Dead & Company and it's gone really smoothly and we're getting a lot of business off of that. Also, looks like we're going to get the Islanders, Kraken, Pacers and maybe the Broncos.

* To be really fair, given the nature of the app and the fact we're registered as a Public Benefit company, it's unlikely they'd leave the app off for very long after an appeal. But they tend to delete first and ask questions later and being down for even a day would be brutal, so hence the ask.

Quick bump to thank you guys and mention that Apple/iOS users can do the same thing if you want though the situation isn’t as dire on that side (because the fixed bug in question affected Android, not iOS)

I currently have a QR code in my Apple wallet that contains all the information pertaining to my vax status.

I assume Bindle does something similar? And can I assume its API would work with patient portals like MyChart, MyPortfolio, et al?

Yeah, we support some of those portals but are adding more all the time. The API is going to have to be able to ingest data from state health departments, pharmacies, private labs (for test results, etc). Right now we’re adding the highest demand portals (CA, NY, CVS) but it’s like whack-a-mole. There’s always going to be more popping up.

Not sure. I’m still learning about the tech side. I can say it’s blockchain based so it’s unhackable. Dealing with medical data so that’s attractive to a lot of partners.

We are going through a shuffle/re-org at work, and I'm now in charge of a new scrum team. I took nominees for the new team name, put up a survey, and of course its ended up in a tie.

So its between these:
  • Badger
  • Mammoth
  • Totoro
Anyone have a favorite? I like Mammoth personally.

So long as you don't use the same rationale for choosing Tequila.

A buddy of mine in Charlotte submitted a name on a whim for the newly formed Professional Box Lacrosse Association team coming to town. He submitted the Charlotte Bootleggers and it is in the final 4. Contest runs until 8/16. If you have a moment, throw a vote his way. https://pbla.com/vote/charlotte/
