It's all a joke. A farce. Hundreds of billions have been spent on, and tens of thousands of lives have been lost in trying to export this ridiculous sham that masquerades as a democracy around the world.

This is Zimbabwe-level nonsense. An insult to educated men and women, yet it will probably work.

Gotta respect the Democrats. They played this card last minute and got down and dirty. Kavanaugh is scrambling and is probably going to perjure himself.

for the second-straight post, I'm gonna start with .... you realize that this "card" is more effective in the hearings than after them, no?

anyway, there's another allegation. Ronan time: https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-des ... ah-ramirez

I don't think the Dems played this card, I think Feinstein planned on keeping the letter a secret, per Ford's request, but it leaked to the media, and she was forced to reveal the accusation.

White House scheduled Trump's meeting with Rosenstein right in the fucking middle of when Professor Ford is scheduled to testify against Kavanaugh.

Wooooooow.

A super liberal super anti-Trump person on Fb just unfriended me. She is part of the DC private school circle and I think her kids go to school with Bart's kids (or something.)

She is just blanket supporting the dude, which, Ok, whatever I guess. But she puts it out there on Fb and then I guess she's just deleting anyone that doesn't just voice their support?

Because all I did was respond to the general tenor of the thread, which was to act like the Dems are the first to "play politics" and it was ruining a good man's life. I pointed out that the GOP played politics with Garland, letting him sit for an unprecedented 293 days. Now they want to rush on Kavanaugh. I didn't say one word about the guy.

The other thing I wanted to say, but decided to let it go, is that they are all saying "over just one women's allegations." Well, no, you are being willfully ignorant or just ignoring the fact that a woman from his Yale days has come forward.

Exactly dude, it's mind blowing. I worked with her in politics*, she is one of the most anti-Trump people on my Fb feed.

It just shows you how crazy the private school circles are, at least here in DC. Fidelity to the school you are paying 5 figures to trumps your morality, not to mention any objectivity.

What I posted was really pretty mild, in the grand scheme of things, and in light of what I could've said and still not in a pissy tone.

* - I mean, I have some amazingly dirty personal shit on her, and she knows that a lot of people know it. I wouldn't in a million years spring it, but she should know that people do regrettable stuff as young adults. Her acting like it's impossible that a guy that admittedly drank way too much and attended lots of parties also tried to drunkenly "hook up" with an unwilling partner is INSANE. Of course it's fucking possible.

Mind you, I didn't even engage on that aspect of things. Just that playing politics with nominations didn't start with Bart.

So everyone pretty much agrees that Bart O' is every bit the raging entitled Frat-Douche that he appears to be?

Did anyone else catch Sunday's article about Dr. Ford in the WashPost? It's pretty remarkable...pretty much everything in her life pivoted on that attempted rape. Where she went to school...her distancing from her family/friends...all the way down to what she decided to focus on in her studies (she's an expert on how traumatic episodes effect people over the long term).

And I can't (actually can) believe that the Republican Senators are going to bring in a woman to question her. Bunch of gutless cowards.

Grosser considering the surrounding bullshit of Trump and the party, but nowhere near as gross as the Thomas confirmation.

I am in no way excusing what Kavanaugh did. But I will say that these incidents occurred when he was a teenager and drunk. Clarence Thomas' acts happened when he was already an adult and working for the government.

And Hill was vilified for her testimony by the Senators on the committee.

This is grosser. Thomas was, while disgusting and a perv, not an entitled elitist frat-douche. And he was never accused of sexual assault...just garden variety sexual harassment. The Senate's treatment of Anita Hill was pretty obnoxious. And most of the same Republicans are still there.

I can't wait to hear what the Elitist White Male version of "High Tech Lynching" is going to be. And who will be this episode's version of David Brock, who started the "Little bit nutty, little bit slutty" talk about Hill.

To me, this seems worse, because of the Trump stench surrounding it. My memories are somewhat vague, but I don't recall that one being as partisan and nasty, although in retrospect there are also many similarities.
