So news is coming out this morning that BFJ favorite, Paul Rabil, is going to announce a new professional lacrosse league.

What is strange is this would compete directly with Major League Lacrosse....which employs most of the lacrosse players in the summer, just announced a roster increase and 50% salary cap hike, AND is primarily sponsored/run by Paul Rabil's big endorser (Warrior Lacrosse/New Balance). There are some smart things about the plan, players get equity in the league, health insurance, no overlap with the pro indoor league schedule. Bad idea...tour model (i.e. Big3 traveling tour) which is similar to last time someone went after Major League Lacrosse (RIP LXM tour).
So MLL draws a few K to games (outside of Denver which draws well) has had trouble keeping teams in markets.
Seems like this could be bad news for both leagues.
