I don't see how they can cut him with all of the money he's due. I'm guessing he'll get at least 2019 to figure it out since that's a lost year anyway before they move to Las Vegas, but even then the cap repercussions from cutting him with all of that money due is going to be unworldly.
I believe there's only $7.5 million in dead cap money if they cut Carr. If they get top pick next draft it's not such a big deal.

Here's where I am with Jason Licht:

Set aside my hatred for the Winston pick (as it pertains to Licht: it was likely out of his hands anyway). I hated that his first order of business was to pass on Aaron Donald and instead select Mike Evans in the 2014 Draft. A cornerstone DL guy who would've made McCoy that much better, and free up league average DEs to get to the QB.

Oh and sprinkle in his selecting a kicker with a second round pick (who, mind you, is no longer in the NFL).

I see that there's an out in the contract after this season with only $7.5M in dead cap money. Still, that would be a pretty ballsy move to cut bait on him after this season. If they legitimately believe he'll never recover from the injury that's one thing, but it would put a big dent in Gruden's rep as a QB whisperer to cut a guy the franchise gave one of the biggest contracts in NFL history to only two years ago.

After seeing them get rid of Khalil Mack, it looks like anything is possible with the Raiders. But, Carr does suck up to Gruden in all his public comments, and Gruden never gives Carr much blame, so you'd think that he's still got plenty of rope.

SF Chronicle reporting today that supposedly they have been aggressively shopping a couple recent #1 picks - Amari Cooper and safety Karl Joseph.

Feels like the Jets would have been all over Carr a year ago?

Amazed that he was still around.

Which is the way I feel about Gregg Williams, the angry man's Rob Ryan.

Naw, way too young. They only splash out 8 figure deals for QBs over 35.

They were so close. Sacked Rodgers near his own end zone on 3rd and 15 with time running out... flag for illegal contact, automatic first down.
