That's awesome! I met him at a Wilco show in Austin. He was extremely nice and introduced me to the rest of his crew like we were buddies.

Not a brush on my part, but my nephew called last night to tell me the coach of his best friend's little league team is Scott Rolen. And my brother had a chance to chat with him a bit.

Met some friends last night at a sports bar in northern Cincinnati, and both Herm Winningham and Glenn Braggs were in attendance. Both played for the 1990 World Series-winning Reds team. Winningham had a very large beer gut; Braggs - who broke a bat over his shoulder during a swing-and-miss in the World Series - looked like he was training for a fight in the UFC.

The most very famous of the RHONJ is staying at the same 3 star hotel that we and the rest of the parents from my kid's soccer team are staying at for the Hershey PA Memorial Day soccer tournament.

A friend of mine is at a little league tournament in Hershey this weekend. No RHONJ sitings from him as far as I can tell.

How'd you do? Both my kids played there over the weekend. Youngest won their group. Older team went 0-3 in the top division.

Shitty. The team can be offensively challenged sometimes, and add in being a little over-matched plus some fatigue/laziness and it wasn't great. They didn't score a single goal.

And damn, you weren't at the fields at Campebelltown firehouse, were you?

I was back and forth between Lancaster Mennonite and Hershey High. Along with the trophy they got one of those giant 5lb chocolate bars. They were more excited by that than winning their group. Kids broke it down next to the field and each took home their own chunk.

I just found out tonight that the dad of one of my son's school friends is (was?) the lead singer for Seven Mary Three.

And tomorrow, my son is going to a party at Iron and Wine's house (his kid is also in my son's grade). Rock 'n' roll, baby.

Time to solve the mystery. Also that band was formed at William and Mary, so you you have the VA connection to break the ice.

Find a way to play the CHiPs theme and then just watch to see if he reacts.

(Also, is being in class w/ Beam's kid cooler or less cool than being in kindergarten with L-Boogie's youngest? One of us is going to lose from what should be an unloseable position.)

I'll be at Beam's house today when I pick my son up.

The 7M3 guy is actually creative director at some company now. He had started his own creative agency that this company bought. So, I guess his non-rock star career is going pretty well. I'm guessing playing gigs and having to always play the same song got cumbersome.

BTW, the way I found out is that we were talking about Sam Beam and my son mentioned that his other friend said his dad had been in a band and had a platinum record. Well, that sounded like some bullshit. He said the band name had something like "seven" in it. I looked into it ... and sure enough! I bet he's made more money off that one song than Beam. Not nearly the same indy cred though. Although they both have fabulous hipster beards.

So I was drinking a beer at a local pub here in Canton last night. Met Chris Ford's niece. She talked about the experiences she had at the Gahhhden back in '81 and '82. That all the players were really nice, but Larry Bird was kind of a jerk.

I only added that Johnny Most was basically the narrator to my childhood growing up in CT.

Not me, but the gf. She's in Ireland as a graduation present to herself.

She met and drank with Brett Desmond and his friends. He's the husband to Andrea Corr (of the Corrs) and son of largest individual shareholder in Celtic F.C., Dermot Desmond.

He also owns Five Guys franchises in Dublin and Belfast.

So dealing with a airport fiasco due to.weather and having to be in Chicago at 8 am tomorrow. So after waiting all day at DCA I am now on a late night flight from Dulles. This has stunk. But I am now at the bar with ACDC's stage crew (well based on the matching gear they covered acdc's black ice world tour for 3 or 4 years). They have a deep deep bench here and have made the Chef Geoff's awkward for any female between 18 and 88. Also there drink selections are all over the map. Solid tattoos also.

Since we don't have a Swampers at the LPGA I'll post this here. My wife had to sponsor the medical tent at the US Open last weekend at Trump's course. Maybe more of a confession, but we took the kids to see what sponsorship gets you. We were about 20 feet away from this buffoon as he climbed into his giant cube. He seemed like an animal on exhibit at the zoo. Eric and Mrs. Eric were mingling at the buffet, we actually took his table when he got up. The guy is surprisingly big. Both tall, and stocky. Really did not expect that.

Took the red eye from LA back back to Tampa Friday night/Saturday morning and Kate Beckinsale was on the flight, took the same shuttle from the terminal with her & her TPD escort.

Anyway later find out she was stalked later in the day

I contend there is no such thing as an irrational obsession with Kate Beckinsale. She very well might be the hottest woman ever.
