In that analogy it assumes another shutdown is somehow gonna be popular for the GOP. Trump’s approval ratings are at their lowest point ever. How is shutting down the government again a winner for him?

Except Congress has the ability to override a veto, so Trump has no power here, unless the spineless fucker McConnell refuses to put a Bill to vote that Trump won't sign. McConnell should really be taking a lot more heat for this.

I had the same thought about all the people taunting Trump, it's like poking a caged wild animal, he will hit a breaking point and lash out. I know it's tempting to twist the knife and laugh at the POS, but he has no problem fucking us all over to make himself feel better.

Yes, except Trump is liable to be swayed by criticism from Coulter, Limbaugh and the rest again. What I really enjoyed was all the die hard Trump supporters responding to the RW rage by saying Trump didn't cave, he just loves America so much, that he put Americans before his own interests. Someone actually said that this shows Trump is the only adult in the room, because he ended the shutdown when both parties in Congress refused to budge. FFS, he just accepted exactly what the Dems in the House proposed before the shutdown started! Another example of Trump causing a problem, reversing his action that caused the problem, then claiming credit for fixing it.

This sums it up perfectly:

Yep, until you remember that 35% of the country still supports everything he does and believes everything he says.

Rachel Maddow shed some light on where Trump gets all his talking points about the "crisis" at the border. Women covered in tape, Mexican cars that you wouldn't believe, like nothing you've ever seen before that we don't have anything like them, and prayer rugs found in the dessert near the border... All from the movie Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Fucking hell, can we get some tight limits on what movies he is allowed to see?

I always find it curious how when someone speaks for God, the reaction is always, "OMG, what an asshole, I can't believe they think God would think that thing," and not "Insane person claims the authority to speak for the creator of all time, space, and matter."

If sck, AB, DIS and the rest of you with 18-yo-ish kids are lucky enough to see them grow to a ripe old age - which I pray they do - they’re gonna have to face some tough questions from their grandkids about how Trump came to power.

It is absolutely unreal the amount of legit bomb that have been dropped on this administration and next to none of it matters.

The media doesn't really give a fuck. And none of his family are going to prison. I'm numb to the bad guys winning. (Not a Patriots joke.)

Wow, one picture, and not a single comment about the SOTU? I had the TV on, and changed the channel before the buffoon came out. I just couldn't force myself to listen to him tonight. I almost always watch the SOTU, but just couldn't subject myself tonight.

Yeah, I legit can't listen to him talk anymore. Even on past episodes of Lovett or Leave It, if he's the subject of OK, Stop I have a tough time listening.

And tbh, going back to the second term of Obama... I treat the SOTU like I treat drafts... I'll read about the high/lowlights the next day. I'm not sitting through that shit. Stupid political theater, for the most part.

I am digging the women wearing white and kind of stealing the show. That was cool.

My buddy did the thing where he used silly Instagram filters and put it on his stories. I have him props for watching it and he shot back "Only watched for 5 minutes so I could do the filters." Good shit. It was your duty as an American to be as sarcastic as Nancy in that photo or ignore the shithead completely.

I made it 14 minutes and I felt physically sick. That picture is awesome though. Few things are more savage than condescendingly applauding someone.
