List all the times Trump has been forced to defend, at anything resembling a level field, over the last ... lifetime. There’s tremendous value in this fight unless you believe him and his are really smart and major counter-threats in one on one combative situations.

Do I want Trump impeached? Fuck yes, probably more than I have ever wanted anything in my life. If I was asked that survey question, I would say the Dems shouldn't impeach right now, because it will be a huge victory for Trump when the Senate votes with Trump. He will steal the narrative screaming from the rooftops that he was acquitted of all wrong doing, and proof that the Dems are so desperate they will try to impeach because Trump is winning so much and they hate America. The problem with this, is most swing voters and low information voters will come away thinking the Dems are just out to get Trump, and Trump must not have done anything impeachable since he was acquitted. I've heard lots of mildly anti-Trump people complaining that the Dems won't let the Russia thing go, saying Trump didn't do anything wrong. I've heard people saying the Mueller testimony was a stupid waste of time by desperate Dems who can't accept Mueller's investigation was a witch hunt that amounted to nothing.

Unfortunately, the key to victory in 2020 is winning the low info swing voter. While they may not like Trump, dragging us through an unwinnable impeachment proceeding will annoy them and make them thinks the Dems don't have anything on Trump. Until there is reason to believe a few Republican Senators will consider impeachment, starting proceedings is just handing Trump an enormous win. It's frustrating as fuck, and sickening that the GOP in Congress are such a pile of spineless fuckwits that they let waves on insanity, incompetence, ignorance and corruption occur in direct view of the world every fucking day without the balls to call it out.
Even if you're right short term, if there are no impeachment hearings, this generation of Democrats will be known as the ones who did nothing about a president committing multiple crimes; morally and historically it's reprehensible that they looked at his disgusting actions and decided to wait it out for until the next election. It is also helps build the "they're all the same" myth.

I also think there needs to be more noise about going against the judicial department's policy that a president cannot be charged with a crime while in office. Swamp lawyers can examine this better than me but the arguments supporting this policy seem pretty controversial to me. I think a big talking point for Democrats could be, "There is clear evidence that he committed a crime, but he can't be charged? What the fuck?" Elizabeth Warren could probably improve my phrasing,

Just like how the GOP got crushed in the 2000 Presidential Election because they brought unwinnable impeachment charges against Clinton. Oh wait ...

This isn't perfect because it doesn't account for third-party candidates and is merely "awarding" a state to the Dems where Trump's approval is underwater, but it explains why I think the Dems have a "small lead" heading into the fourth quarter.

In short, if Georgia and North Carolina are really in play come next November, Trump is probably cooked. (Though most resources still need to go to firm up the industrial midwest.)

Who gives a fuck about that graphic if people in those states are going to not be able to vote and Russia attacks the voting machines?

I sort of think people who aren't able to vote aren't able to be polled either. So it's a wash.

Polls are typically "registered voters" but just because you've registered doesn't always mean you're able to cast your vote.

More important, just because you don't approve of the job Trump is doing, doesn't mean you won't vote for him anyways, because you think [insert Dem nominee] is a radical Socialist who hates America.

Dan Coats is resigning as the Director of National Security in part because legit threats he's briefing the White House about Russia are being sluffed off as no big deal.

He's being replaced by John Ratcliffe. The guy from the Mueller hearing spouting anti Hillary bullshit.

The only thing worse than being gaslighted is being gaslighted by fucking morons. If Jim Jordan really said anything like this he should be laughed out of every public gathering ever until the end of the time.

Moscow Mitch and Russian Rand.

Texas comes to mind, but if you were trying to decide which state had the two most despicable senators, Kentucky would probably be the worst.

I just discovered the hashtag: #ReadTheCummingsReport, and you guys aren't gonna believe this, but this administration is kinda corrupt. https://oversight.house.gov/news/press- ... us-nuclear

Wrong thread, but I don't see how the Dems don't spend the entire debate on talking about the corruption, the border atrocities, and maybe his bailouts for the problems his tariffs caused.

"Roseanna, who wore a red T-shirt, white shorts, and a MAGA hat adorned with multiple buttons, including one featuring the likeness of Hillary Clinton behind bars, had driven an hour and a half from Lexington, Kentucky. She defended Trump’s statements about Baltimore. “He didn’t say nothing about the color of somebody’s skin,” Roseanna said, yet it seemed like everyone was “wishing him toward ‘He’s a bigot.’

“I’m sick to death of it. I have 13 grandchildren—13,” she continued. “Four of them are biracial, black and white; another two of them are black and white; and another two of them are Singapore and white. You think I’m a racist? I go and I give them kids kisses like nobody’s business.

Read: Will Trump’s racist attacks help him? Ask blue-collar white women.

When I asked Roseanna and Amy whether they would join in a “Send her back!” chant were it to take place that night, both women said no, but out of deference to Trump. “He apologized for that, so I think us as Trump supporters will respect him for that,” Roseanna said. She then shared her thoughts on the chant’s target, Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who came to America as a refugee from Somalia.

Look, but she is gonna get—you know, I don’t want her stinkin’ Muslim crap in my country,” Roseanna said.

“Sharia law,” Amy chimed in. Her iridescent CoverGirl highlighter glinted under the stadium lights. “Sharia law.”

“That’s not America,” Roseanna said. “She is a Muslim through and through …She wants that all here.” She wondered aloud whether Omar had come to the U.S. illegally. (There is no evidence this is true.)"

I don't know any Roseannnas, thankfully. Full article here.
