It really freaks me out how much Trump sounds like Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force during his Nazi rallies. Despite that, I would kill for a supercut of Trump's "greatest hits" set to clips of Master Shake talking.
I have been thinking about changing the only twitter icon I've ever had...
“All I'm sayin' is, he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall.”
This, and his attacks against the press..we're fucked.
I finished Catch 22 and I thought this quote was appropriate:
“America is not going to be destroyed " he shouted passionately.
"Never?" prodded the old man softly. "Well..." Nately faltered.
The old man laughed indulgently, holding in check a deeper, more explosive delight. His goading remained gentle. "Rome was destroyed, Greece was destroyed, Persia was destroyed, Spain was destroyed. All great countries are destroyed. Why not yours? How much longer do you really think your own country will last? Forever? Keep in mind that the earth itself is destined to be destroyed by the sun in twenty-five million years or so."
Nately squirmed uncomfortably. "Well, forever is a long time, I guess.”
Violence after an election, a president refusing to step down after losing an election, citizens rebelling against a judiciary branch aggressively against what most Americans believe, California and/or New York/New England deciding to secede. All of this sounded crazy 5 years ago. Not anymore.
The truly fucked up thing is that, on this current path, we'll end up in a civil war fueled by nothing more than profit. Like there are plenty of other factors, but that's the only one that could have been removed and stopped this.

Boys, we fuckin’ got him ...
(I can't tell if you're being facetious. Realistically though, Bill Maher has been rooting for a recession ((because of what Brian mentioned)) for this very reason. Maher's also a well off multimillionaire so he's fine if things go to shit. I acknowledge the sentiment overall, and, gun to my head, would agree. I just would feel bad for people though because unemployment would skyrocket again. But...it would also lower home prices in my eventual retirement location, soooooo... yeaaahhhhh.)

Isn't the rule of thumb that the economy is generally 2 -3 years behind the policies of the president? Seems like that may be holding true.
Yes. Which means it was fucking batshit for the president to claim any positivity of the "strong economy" over the last two plus years.
He was riding the wave left by Obama and claiming numbers that he shouldn't have. But, now that he's tanking it, it's his to own. Like a relief pitcher blowing a 5 run lead he inherited ending in a loss.

No, not serious about this mattering and yes, super excited to deal with the ramifications of a kleptocracy I didn't want while trying to raise two kids.

Well, he's going to blame China, so it still won't be his fault. Everything's a deflection.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.

No, he is going to blame the Democratic House and if he loses in 2020, the heart of the impending recession will fall under the next President's term, and he will tout it as proof that he was the greatest, and all Conservatives will claim radical Leftist Socialism is killing the economy (even if a centrist like Biden wins).
What I love is how Trump and many Conservatives constantly railed on Obama's economy being a "complete disaster," or arguing the numbers used for unemployment were rigged and useless, yet the economic indicators have continued to improve in a straight line, and they use the same "meaningless" metrics to tout Trump's economy as the greatest ever. Trump is the backup QB coming into the game with a 70 point lead, putting up 6 points, and claiming he led the highest scoring game in history.

Fun right up until the Trump admin touts the largest hispanic rally ever and the media doesn't correct.
Or more likely, they hear about 100,000 protesters and suddenly there's an emergency that requires him to stay in Bedminster.
Just fucking get him out of Bedminster, any reason... Last time he was here, I got stuck behind his procession from Bedminster to the airport. He was probably on Marine One, but the rest of his entourage drove and clogged the fucking highways where 78 and 287 meet.

Right. It needs to be spontaneous. But El Paso is almost singularly set up to do just that. If there was word of a massive protest there would absolutely be an excuse not to show up.

This could end up as the largest protest ever if he even steps outside anywhere.
Would be compelling if hundreds of thousands did protest in El Paso. Hope it happens.
There's a storm over middle america right now. What do you think the chances are he goes to Dayton, but the "weather" will prevent him from continuing to El paso?

I don't care if Tim Ryan is a donkey and presidential candidate after-thought... This caravan from Ohio down to Mitch's front door to demand action is fucking brilliant.
Enough, for fuck's sake.
You can lead a horse to fish, but you can't fish out a horse.
Out of all the things you can believe or claim to believe about Trump, the one that's just not plausible is that he has even the slightest capacity or interest in feeling empathy or compassion for others. Say he's not racist because of Carson or he's not dumb because of his wealth or anything, but this one is just inarguable.
