The knowledge that the Whistleblower has would surely make it easy for an insider to identify him or her... wouldn't it?

Seen too many espionage movies, maybe - but wouldn't this person be in some personal danger right about now?
Per my timeline upthread, it's gotta either be Coats or Gordon. Gotta be.

That's the whole point of Whistleblower laws, because clearly professional danger is implied, and at this level, personal danger can't be discounted.

The old "those who don't learn from history's mistakes are doomed to repeat it" is almost too on the nose. This is watergate with some treason thrown in.

Every NYT source must be excited to read that.

EdRomero wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2019 5:42 pm Trump said the Mueller Report already exonerated him from collusion and obstruction. The BBC's focus last night was on what Biden did and how Americans can't don't want another impeachment because of the Clinton one. It's so frustrating. There have been blatant impeachable offenses from day one and the Dems sat on them; it's stupid and it's neglectful of your elected duty. And now a Republican talking point is the Dems have been talking about impeachment from day one so they're crying wolf again -- that's why you don't talk about it and just do it --impeachment should have happened the day the Dems took over the House. Instead the wait for a mythical smoking gun as Trump fucks the country even more. Even if this was a brilliant political long play by the Dems, the damage to the country and world is already done, and Pelosi let it happen.
Sit down, and shut.the.fuck.up.

Choke on Brady's earth-water-cock and swallow.

Release the throat muscle and them Gronkowski will line up.
So I'm here to apologize for this response. I was hammered. Whiskey Wednesday and a long-lost friend appeared half-way through the evening, which spelled trouble.

But then I re-read EdRomero's response here, and I get why my *really* drunk self tried to write a STFU and smell the roses post. But it came out like that. So I do apologize to all for that post. Even to EdRomero. (o;

Joe K wrote: Thu May 23, 2019 2:11 pmThis is a common assumption that I question the validity of. Two years after the GOP failed to convict Clinton in the Senate, they won back the Presidency (despite a strong economy) using a theme of “restoring honor and dignity to the Oval Office.” While I get that Clinton himself wasn’t running in 2000, it’s not like a failed impeachment destroyed the GOP’s electoral prospects.
I think the difference is that Clinton didn't go around claiming that the Senate vote exonerated him. Trump will, and he will be backed up by the entire bad-faith right wing noise machine, plus the legacy media reporting not just the acquittal, but also "Trump claims total exoneration".
Well, we'll see.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
