If Trump wins (over ANY Dem) because any group declines to vote, then fuck that group with a rusty screwdriver.

Humor me for a bigger point ... what if the Dems find an appetite for a big concession and back Romney? Ok to revolt or must vote by virtue of party nomination?

Hmm... what if the Dems find an appetite for an even bigger concession and back Pence? (I mean, if we are being silly, why not go all the way?)

Do big gap / small gap for the policy differences between trump, Pence, Romney, Biden, Warren and Sanders?

No fucking shit. It's infuriating to me that anyone would respond to people not voting because they don't like Biden enough when going up against Trump. If you don't fucking vote in this election, fuck right the fuck off.

Do you think you're looking at this as someone who can have most everything fixed by Trump losing rather than only with a specific candidate winning?

Will a viable third party candidate declare?

The timing seems better now than ever, unless my prediction that it's fixed for Biden is true.

It's a stupid question. I'm not looking at this as Trump being gone fixes everything and I don't believe there is a candidate out there that is going fix everything. I am looking at this as if Trump wins again (assuming there's no conviction in the Senate, resignation, or he doesn't drop dead on the toilet in the midst of rage tweeting), people are infinitely more fucked in this country than if Biden wins. So yeah, if youth or whoever don't vote because Biden's the nominee and Trump wins, fuck all of them with the same rusty screwdriver.

This is officially a national emergency where the president of the United States is referencing Civil War if people try to hold him accountable for his actions.

I get your point, and I agree to a point, but I see the analogy as Trump's presidency is like a house fire. I want to make sure the fire is put out before worrying about rebuilding the living room. Yes, I'd love a more progressive candidate to beat out Biden for the nomination, but I will damn sure get my ass to the polls and vote for Centrist status-quo establishment insider to get Trump out of office, then worry about rebuilding disputes afterwards. Hillary losing to Trump should have been a wakeup call to the Dem Party powers, but it wasn't, as they value their power over the will of the people in their Party. Sitting out and letting Biden lose to Trump ain't going to change the establishment's desire to put their power over the will of the people. I get why people might do that, but an all or nothing approach serves nothing, except risking another 4 years of Trump. And if he gets reelected, he will get worse. No threat of reelection, the GOP will be more likely to support him, as he will show he has the support to get reelected.

Bernie has a heart procedure. Even if it is "routine" I don't think that's going to be great.

Bernie’s age is his only significant downside, IMO, so this news is a bit concerning.

Would be nice if there were a strong progressive candidate between the age of say, 45-65 (Warren just turned 70), but oh well.

If you're not up to the latest on Jacob Wohl (and who could blame you), this is his handiwork. He was having a presser today where supposedly he was going to introduce a 29-year-old Marine who says he's been having an affair with Elizabeth Warren.

I mean, yeah, sure, having an affair is "bad."

EW puttin' it to a 30 year old Marine secretly boosts her with just about every non-evangelical voting bloc, right?

IOW, this is a very very stupid and ill-conceived smear. Definition of counter-productive.

This whole story is hilarious to me. I like EW a lot but having spent ~50 hours in her classroom over a decade ago, the idea of her being a predatory cougar that seduces 25 year old soldiers is laugh out loud funny. It’s like the least believable smear they could come up with.

I don't have the benefit of being up close like that, but holy buckets does she not come off like that. To me, she's an uber nerd whose idea of "getting crazy" is to put a cube of sugar in her afternoon tea.

I don't know if states still enforce criminal statutes against defamation, but I do wish Warren would sue him. I mean, I know she can't, because the "laugh it off" response is way better politics. (That tweet was brilliant.) But someone needs to force assholes like this to be accountable for their obviously false public statements.

Bernie had a legit heart attack.
The Vermont independent senator, 78, was hospitalized Tuesday after experiencing chest pains at a campaign stop in Nevada. He was treated for what his 2020 presidential campaign described at the time as a blockage in one artery.

But a statement from Sanders' doctors released through the campaign on Friday said Sanders "was diagnosed with a myocardial infarction," a medical term for a heart attack.

Yeah, I like and respect Bernie, but he's way too old to start being president. And of course, that was true before the heart attack. If he were to withdraw and throw his support behind Warren, that would be awesome.

My son, who is a junior at Northeastern studying poli sci... And is FIERCELY a Bernie guy... We had dinner last night and he was pretty resigned that Bernie needs to bow out. He wasn't excited about EW, but he seemed pretty OK with her as a second choice.
