And she was wearing a pastie. I remember watching it not giving it a second thought, but then the 24-hour news cycle took over.

Based on the level of defense they were playing against (sort of the way they calculate DVOA), Goff is playing the worst quarterback game in a SB I ever saw.

It kind of makes me laugh to think most Lions fans hate Stafford but Stafford wins that Super Bowl for the Rams no question.

I spent all season complaining about this defense. Shows what I know. Belichick's coaching was so good, and he ended up doing ok with his off-season moves too

Seeing the “Brady has surpassed Jordan as the best athlete ever” takes after a game where the Patriots scored 13 points is, well, something.

Re: Super Bowl LIII--Patriots vs. Rams
Not sure if this is sarcasm.
If it isn't, than I wholeheartedly disagree. It would have taken a top 5 or 10 QB to deal with that defence.

I’m with Brian here. I got the sense that Goff’s limitations prevented the Rams from making the type of adjustments that even an average NFL QB should be able to make. Then again, I’m old enough to remember when Patrick Mahomes put up 31 points on that defense in a half and when Nick Foles put up 41 on them in a reasonably important game.

Absolutely hilarious to see all the pandering going on with the coin toss, and then the half time show is the whitest band on the planet. They had stopped KC at first, and then KC adjusted which says a lot for Reid's coaching and Mahomes' greatness.Joe K wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 8:52 amI’m with Brian here. The defense that played against the Eagles didn't have Hightower, Jones (a very important piece of their pass defense), and that Eagles offense destroyed a highly touted Vikings defense before the Super Bowl.

This was weird to see on social media last night.
Barstool’s Dave Portnoy manhandled, carried out of Super Bowl
He even got bounced from the after party later on.

Re: Super Bowl LIII--Patriots vs. Rams
Any negative Pats talk is just hate and jealousy at this point. Better to stop and appreciate what has never been done and never will be done again. The change this year is the back end. The Chung injury could have been huge but they have lots of veterans (McCourty x2, Harmon) and then youth and speed in Crossen, Jones and the best in Gilmore. Reminds me of the HOF inductee years. The front gets pressure anyway in Flowers and then the blitz scheme was something I hadnt seen in years if almost ever. Most called this team garbage and said the only reason they win is because of the AFC East. Then they run through the playoffs. So Belichick took average talent and made them champions. Sounds about right.

You guys really think Goodell dislikes seeing the Patriots win? Love it or hate it teams are great for leagues’ popularity (see: Lakers, Yankees, etc.) and the NFL undoubtedly loves promoting Brady as a demigod.

Yeah, all the Pats fans bitching about Goodell is really fucking weird at this point. I had multiple people on Fb last week with a weird fixation on how horrible he is and how anti-Patriot he is.
It's fucking weird and not a very good look for that fan base. Your team has won an unprecedented amount of championships. Please stop with the persecution bullshit. Just be happy to be a fan during a remarkable time. NO ONE wants to hear about it.

I agree wholeheartedly. Maybe part of the reason that everyone thinks this team is made up of merely average players is due to the fact that every Pats loss is so celebrated, and when they lose 2 out of 3 everyone is ready to stick a fork in them.
One more Pats stat - only 3 teams have ever made 3 straight Super Bowls - The Dolphins, the Bills (both of which seems very hard to believe) and this Pats team.
Closest I can find to this level of sustained greatness is the great 49ers teams that won 5 Super Bowls in 13 years. But that was with two different Coaches and QBs.

Lolz.
(Also, it's a never-ending "nuh uh, you" argument at this point. Everyone and their takes are insufferable. Fans, TV personalities, whoever. But the Goodell thing, EVERYONE hates him. It's probably that New England is just the loudest to complain about him.)
Edit:
Sidenote: my "observer" this morning had the initials "TB."
