Now that's an interesting take. Galaxy brain is telling me that Atlanta probably wouldn't mind a more player-friendly CBA and pulled that private plane stunt hoping for a reaction like that.

Is Rossi any good anymore? The last former-US-teen-sensation RSL had was Freddy Adu. It didn't work out so well.

Adu didn't work out for a lot of teams.

The only one that is truly ruined by the adidas stripes is Portland. (Others are ruined by different design elements). Was Columbus going for a Larry King Live tribute?

2 directions of stripes on the same jersey? Why not.

So it is not okay to use a racial slur at practice as the coach.
..got it.

Only surprise is it was not Miami.

Nashville's Anthem....

I like Judah & the Lion...but could be something they look back on and think...wow our Anthem was by those guys, that was a very 2019/2020 choice.
Seems like something a bunch of drunk drunk folks could chant.

Also pretty consistent start for MLS sides in Concacaf Cup matches. Go up and give up goals late because the team is not in shape for 90 minutes of competitive soccer yet....or just don't perform.

Stefan Frei got cleated, in the chest, and then gets a yellow card for dissent.

And the Sounders have a 16 year old kid playing for them, who got some run last night.

It's not bad. Will sound great as the teams come to the field in Seattle or Atlanta. 8000 fans on a Wed night in Colombus or DC....maybe a bit much.

Season kicks off tomorrow, but there were some crazy crazy events last night in Concacaf Champions League

Tigres goes through on a 94th minute goal by their goalie.
Seattle loses in PKs
and LAFC makes up 2 goals from the first leg with an amazing 3rd goal.

So quarters have LAFC v. Cruz Azul, Atlanta v. America, Tigres v. NYCFC, and Olimpia v. Montreal

Thoughts from week 1
- DC United is not going to be very good. Flores is going to get frustrated and Ben Olsen will be fired despite DC United being very cheap.
- Josef Martinez ACL tear is huge for Atlanta and equally huge for the league.
- Skill level in the league keeps going up.

Shame about Martinez because Atlanta was looking damn good. Their technical level is well above the MLS norm.

Watched some of the Nashville-Atlanta game and thought back 20 years - if someone had told me then that there'd be 60,000 people at a soccer game in Tennessee (or anywhere else outside of New York or LA), I'd have laughed at them.

Jordan Morris is sneaky-fast/quick. He's kinda chunky and doughy looking, but he was roasting the Chicago back line yesterday.

12 games in one day is too many. No wonder they only went 1-2-9 or 0-5-7.

man I came real close to buying season ticket for United this year. Glad I did not.

Also the Athletic has a CRAZY story on two Nashville FC players who got hit by the Tornado including pictures from his apartment. He was there with his 8-month pregnant wife.

Enjoying background soccer this morning. Fun watching games being played at basically local soccer tournament hosting facility. This morning from the angle you can see other teams training on side fields while Philly and NYCFC play. Quality of play is clearly down and production is not as good at German or English coverage...but like the format

Is it fair to speculate teams with more international players are at a disadvantage as some portion of those players would prefer to get the fuck out of here sooner than later?
