52? What the fuck?

Just as a side-note, the characters in 90210 were the same age and school year as me, so this is like someone I graduated high school with dying.

That 6 year gap was a lot more pronounced in the 90s.

She aged better than any of the rest of the cast though, which is probably not surprising.

Yeah this is like a senior in my h.s. dying when I was a freshman. Just too close to home.

It's not really a Heath Ledger thing for me, more of how the fuck does a 52 year old male with no outward health issues die of natural causes that isn't cancer? It's gut punch to see someone only 8 years my senior dying.

I'm gonna hold out until I hear that it wasn't just some random stroke as opposed to a stroke induced by fentanyl or something. Though it is possible for a healthy 52-year-old to just more or less drop dead though. It's sad regardless.

Its like if Walter McCarty died but everyone of a certain age ranged from familiar with to superfan of Kentucky basketball? No one is crying but its like more of an "oh shit ... wow" reaction.

I used to watch that show because the women I dated (and later, the one I married) ALL watched it.

Easy viewing schlock.

But man, the guy is younger than me. Scares the shit out of me.

I don't remember the "from Mansfield, Ohio" angle being played up at all while "90210" was on and I was in high school about 45 minutes from there.

I don't recall ever seeing more than a snippet here and there of this show. I definitely never watched a whole episode all the way through and I was 14 in 1991. But I will grant I know a lot of people who watched it religiously.

Local media should just cover characters like they actually exist. Everyone lost their minds with that Walter White obituary in Albuquerque. Just do that full time. Newspapers saved. Good job.

I'm with AB. I knew of the show, but I know I've never watched...and never watched a clip that I know of.

I was 17 in 1990, but in college and didn't have cable/TV. Our dorm had a shared TV room, but I don't remember if it was on. Vermont didn't have a Fox station at the time. When I moved to New Mexico I didn't have a TV at all.

That said I did like Shannon Doherty, but Tiffany Amber was/is totally my jam.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

Original cast, or anyone? Tiffani Amber Thiessen? Vanessa Marcil? The actress who played Clare? (Great call on that one Ryan, I always thought she was the hottest, and nobody backed me on that). I didn't realize Lyndsey Price was on the show, but she is still super hot. I think I was a freshman in HS when 90210 came out. I remember all the girls going nuts over it, but I don't think guys watched, or at least didn't discuss it. I watched the first season because my older sister was still home, but I didn't watch much after that. I definitely don't remember people watching it in college, but I must have to some extent, because I remembered Clare.

I did not know that Kelly Kapowski or Marcil were ever on the show. They are both nice-looking ladies. Don't know who Lyndsey Price is, only vaguely familiar after a google.

Now it all makes sense. Tori Spelling was a butterface, I thought Jenny Garth was super hot back then, but looking at pictures of her on the early years, I could see not finding her hot. I though Shannon D was cute back then, but I could see not finding her cute. And nobody thought the old lady playing a kid was attractive, did they?

If you're 40 and seeing her back then for the first time, I'm sure she's attractive. If you first saw her when you were 14 and she was 30 playing 18, your opinion is locked in. Casting's fault, not ours.

Throw in that she was playing the unattractive, nerdy super-achiever in a show filled with girls who were supposed to be the hottest girls in Beverly Hills, so yeah, I didn't find her remotely attractive back then. Looking back at pictures, I think they could have made her look better, and some pictures of her around 40 yo she looks good, but pictures of her from the show, no she wasn't attractive.
