Considering it’s Virginia, maybe they’ll build him a statue like they did with Robert E. Lee.

The one and only college basketball game I attended this season was Arizona State at Stanford. That day, Arizona State looked a lot like they look today, and they got smoked.

The final play where G Tremont Waters made all the Maryland bigs look lumbering is proof of the adage good guard play will take down the bigs come tourney time.

Calipari is really bad at coaching offense. Kentucky is going to lose this game unless they speed it up but Cal likes to micromanage games played in the halfcourt.

I don’t think PJ is coming back. Too bad. They can win one more with a good effort but I really don’t think they can beat UNC without him.

Wow Tacko fouls out and the next play Duke gets a rebound off the miss free throw and take the lead.

Not sure how defenses are supposed to stop the play where Zion just lowers his shoulder like Jim Brown and runs guys over.

UcF had a pretty solid game plan. Invitee them to shoot and let Tacko intimidate inside. I’d say the numbers with Tacko off court were overwhelmingly in dukes favor.

I apparently need one of Michigan, MSU or Purdue to win in the Sweet 16 to win my B1G over bet so I like those chances. I can even hedge on LSU vs MSU Friday if I want to.

Finally checking in here. Been a weird four day stretch for me. Yes, I was very nervous about the UVA - Gardner-Webb game, and the way UVA started the game did my nerves no favors. But they eventually came out of their funk and completely dominated the last 26 minutes. And they pretty completely controlled Oklahoma tonight even without getting good offensive games from any of their big three (Kyle Guy was 0-10 on threes). Feeling much better about things now.

BTW, Brian, I was curious about your comment about the ACC always underachieving in the Tournament. Seems like an odd take considering the ACC has not only won more games than any other conference in the last 30 years, but has also had by far the best winning percentage. Maybe the expectation is even higher than that? https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-me ... dness-1985

Hey guys am I the only one kind of disappointed this year. No real mid major, all 1,2,3 seeds advancing, only a few real close games.

I mean it could set up for a nice finish starting Thursday, but the under dog story was always great.

I was until yesterday. Two great games don’t save the tourney, but with a lot of strong teams advancing I expect a lot of close games in the later rounds.

You probably shouldn't try to extort Nike ever, but you definitely shouldn't do it if you are a public figure and on the president's enemies list.

Ego?

Remember WAY back in September when Politico said:

Michael Avenatti Is Winning the 2020 Democratic Primary

Subheadline:
He won’t be the nominee. But he’s setting the terms of the debate—and that could damage the rest of the field, and the country.

Terrible story, but I have to think this would be an NCAA violation if he plays again this year. He isn't traveling this weekend, so it's likely his career is over, I suppose.

EDIT: Looks like he got clearance. Carry on.

So Avenatti’s big reveal is that DeAndre Ayton got money from Nike. Shocker. There’s already been testimony in federal court that Ayton got paid by Adidas. And he nevertheless wound up signing with Puma after turning pro.
