I guess. Not my league, so I don't know all the details. But, my friend says that half the guys in his league are very much against any kind of change.

You know how I feel about this. I think there is a clear angle that shows Marisnick moving inside before the catcher was even there and the throw put Lucroy in Marisnick's way. No fucking clue what the guy was supposed to do in that situation.

So give up the out because the catcher was blocking the plate? He made a split-second decision to move to his right and the throw took Lucroy right into him.

He's moving inside while Lucroy is over the plate. The bad throw then takes him into his path.

I'm surprised you're trying to defend him. The obvious play was to slide. He had no intention of sliding. Should have been moving to the outside of the plate away from the catcher, not the opposite. Suspension truly deserved.

He's "moving inside" shoulder first. C'mon man, even Marisnick's own words after the game gave away that he knew he fucked up given the new rules.

How often do guys try to slide on the inside of the line when sliding home? If you're avoiding a tag from an outfield throw, you pretty much slide on the outside every time. right?

You know on throws from RF runners take the outside path because it necessitate the catcher having to swing around to make the tag, right? "He actually chose the inside to avoid contact, not to break up the play, and his shoulder first dive to tag the plate seamlessly converted into a brutal but very accidental collision" is really, really hard to buy. Some might even explicitly call it "a bad play".

Especially from RF. If you go inside, you're breaking it up.

I guess Heaney would have improved it or something if you had to find a way but that's completely unreal.

A motivated (.500) team vs a team (17 games under .500) and likely afraid to show up the grief-stricken.

Paramount still asks for a tighter storyline.

Enter Grayson Allen.

Hey Giff, if you want to complain Marisnick's HBP was atleast a half foot too high, I'm with you this time.

This one kinda pisses me off because Marisnick was actively bothered by the collision and admitted as such that it was a bad play immediately and has been contrite about it ever since. I don't mind beef, but this one was unnecessary.

I do think he handled it about as well as he could have after the fact. Didn't really defend the play, didn't do anything after the HBP and I'm sure had to appeal because of the PA. The video sure makes it look like he knew he'd earned one and some asshole on the bench (Verlander?) decided to escalate which, given all the Angels have been through the last two weeks, c'mon. Just shut the fuck up and let it end.

Nah. Marisnick 100% earned that. High and tight up on the shoulder. He almost ended a player's career last week, and when he appealed his suspension he made sure that pitch was elevated a few inches.

I'm totally fine with it.

Watch the pitch again, just staring at where Marisnick's face is.

And if that's the real concern, you don't risk the same. I guarantee either Ramirez would tell you it was higher than he would have placed it or Ramirez is an asshole.

He didn't earn a pitch off his hip for some silly unwritten rule. He was getting one high and tight for the injury his chosen course of actions caused to one of their teammates. Had the pitch ricocheted off his helmet, then yeah, too far. But it didn't.

Score settled.

I'm going with a PawSox employee that figures he'll be let go when the team moves to Worcester, so he's passive aggressively messing with the team.
