All hail Corey Conners, the pride of Listowel Ontario.

I was just listening to "Against All Odds" - Cousin Sal's gambling podcast - and golf expert Joe House was hyping Conners as a long shot to make the top 20.

10 days ago, Conners had to qualify to make the Texas open which he had to win in order to qualify for the Masters. What a story.

Hey - he got this call right!

This Thai golfer - Aphibarnrat (sp?) has the look of an old-time golfer.

Yeah, the Barn Rat is a smoker too, which they don't show on TV. so you seldom see him on TV unless he's actually hitting a shot.

As someone who normally likes to play by themselves, and fast, I love it. If I get out first, with a cart, I can get 18 in at less than two hours. Leaving the pin in helps with that.

Umbrellas are out but most of the players are in short sleeves and vests but they are on the course and practice range.

I can't believe with all of the tight-ass rules that golf has, you get a mulligan for accidentally hitting the ball on a warm-up swing.

Seriously?

That is nuts - especially considering the fact that Dustin Johnson could have lost the US Open for grazing his ball during a practice swing on the green.

Yeah, Zach Johnson just did it off the tee. Just retrieved his ball and teed it up again and birdied the hole.

That rule has been that way for a while. No penalty on the waggle from the tee. (And only from the tee)

I don't know why Tiger would be disappointed to leave himself a 40 foot putt, that's his best chance of making it.

Kind of scary to think of the number he'd be sitting on if he could make a few 8-footers.

There’s the first move. That was a two-shot swing on two when Molinari didn’t birdie and tiger didn’t bogey from their tee shots and now tiger picks up a shot at 3.
