Feels like you are workshopping this for Golic and Wingo.
Whoo boy. I haven't listened to them since about two weeks, maybe a month after Wingo stepped in. I think he's awful.

Yeah, it’s easy to call those bad plays by Lowry but Curry has been hunting fouls this series more than I’ve seen him do in the past. He’s definitely using some tricks from the Harden/CP3 playbook.
The idea that you shouldn't play aggressive defense against the greatest 3 point shooter in history near the 3 point line is comical. I know they say stupid shit all the time, but that one bothered me a lot.

That’s probably my least favorite sports cliche. It’s amazing that the 2008 Celtics won the NBA Championship even though their first and second round series never started!

I think the current series odds (TO -120; GSW +100) are really undervaluing the edge the Raptors have right now. Their offense in Games 1 and 3 was good enough to beat even a full-strength Warriors team. Even if Klay and/or KD are able to return in Game 4, I’m skeptical that the Warriors defense will improve enough considering that those guys won’t be 100% physically. The Looney injury also really hurts at that end and he’s not coming back.

I can't recall ever hearing that cliche before. What does it mean exactly? That a Champ isn't a real champ unless they lose to a lower seed on their home court?

Basically just that a team that doesn't have home-field (court/ice) advantage can't win the series until they win a road game, so the "idea" -- such as it is, is that the series doesn't start until the road team wins a game. But it falls on its face a bit when the favorite comes back and wins a road game or it doesn't apply to Game 7s though, etc. etc.

Pretty sure it’s just a dumb motivational ploy that Pat Riley made up when one of his teams lost the first two games on the road and he wanted to keep them from getting discouraged.

I don't think its that bad. If the home team breaks first, it means they're looking at either three or four games to win just one more and if the road team does, it means they've flipped the location advantage (and home court/field/ice is b/w 54% and 65% in the three majors that play a series format according to 538).

And I also think it popped up when most of the series were set up 2-3-2, which meant there was a pretty big swing (mentally) if you could win one of the first two on the road.

It's probably about 15-20 rows densely populated with assholes, then a lot of the longtime fans beyond that. The move to Chase will definitely increase the number of the former.

Spicy. Gotta love the drama. What possesses a man to just push and verbally harass Kyle Lowry? And in public in a stage like that? Fucking nuts.

LeBron weighed in, btw:

Don't fucking cry for this scumbag.

He's worth $2.3B.

He also bought a 6% stake in the team for $50m and will probably get quadruple his money back on that.

Edit:

He's also going to buy remorse. Maybe the money he makes selling his shares of the team should be the donation he gives to Lowry's charity.

Edit 2: And if you're thinking "Damn, that would be harsh." He donated $50 million to USC.

Also, of course he went to USC.

I'm not considering how rich he is.

Forcing someone to sell their share just seems harsh on the surface. In addition to banning from games and the fine.

Agreed on fuck him.

He's not a regular fan with front row seats. He's an owner. Even as a minority owner, that means he is the NBA. Unacceptable. He makes every other owner, regardless of size of stake in a team, look terrible. I imagine every minority owner on every other team wants him out of the league, too.

If he was a regular fan, he would be banned forever.

Even without the shove, he was completely across the line in repeatedly telling Lowry, “go fuck yourself.” You sit courtside at an NBA game, the possibility of a player landing on you is part of the deal. Regina King and Tracy Morgan almost got decapitated by a flying Joel Embiid at MSG earlier this season.

It’s impossible to know of course, but I wonder what kind of odds you could’ve gotten 10 or 20 years ago that a Canadian team would win the NBA title before a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup.

Toronto’s level of play and level of focus that last 8 games has been really impressive. I don’t view this series as that shocking: the Raptors have been really, really good all year and the Warriors are really banged up outside of Curry and Green. (Klay looked good last night but there’s no way Looney or Cousins would be playing if it were the regular season.) What is incredible to look back on is how close the Raptors came to losing to the Sixers and to going down 3-0 to the Bucks. They’ve been great in the Finals but had a very tough path to get here.

To watch the game outside the arena.

Beautiful weather all weekend, but it's been pouring all day here.

Streets are apparently jammed with people all over downtown.
