Jeeves forgot to tell Steve ..Moab..

Post by wlu_lax6 »

Got here tonight. Leave next Saturday. Mountain biking on Tuesday and paddling on Thursday. What else should I not miss likely will hold arches tomorrow. Food/drink recommendations.

Is Jack Ass Joe's UFO Jerky worth stopping at?

Yes I flew into Salt Lake and did not think to go to Rio Tinto tonight.

Also just assumed everyone in Salt Lake and Provo are Mormon...and have not see anyone who is not caucasian since the plane hit the tarmac.

Those guys own a lot of property in eastern Utah and western Colorado.

My brother goes to Moab frequently (not far from my hometown). Ill ask him if he has any tips.

Haven't been there in years, but Arches is amazing. Delicate Arch is so cool.

Mtn biking: SlickRock trail of course. Goblin Valley is a cool ride. If they are still around, Rim Cyclery is the place for gear/advice/etc.

Yeah it is. Deadhorst Pt State Park is just north of Moab, and worth a visit (Its not technically Canyonland Nat'l Park, but gives a view of it).

From tonight at Deadhorse of last night at Windows in Arches? My wife did the professional kid/baby photography thing for awhile and it kills me we left the awesome Cannon at home. This has been one of my favorite vacations of all time.

The sights, hiking, biking, and whitewater makes up for the fact that it is Jeep Easter week in Moab.

I agree. I always prefer Canyonlands. The camping up there is a lot more limited, though.

Hopefully you made it to Mesa Arch? That may be one of the most awesome views anywhere.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
