Ross is just too high strung.

You guys are too young! It's not great, it's unrealistic, but it was part of the 90s!
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
Re: Friends
I think this was my How I Met Your Mother. I was just too young to relate to 20somethings in 1995 or whatever, but it was perfect timing for me when HIMYM came on.

And I think I'm too old. Never much of a fan, but it wasn't "King of Queens" bad.

This is probably perfect. Because I never cared for that show!

Re: Friends
Rachel .drug issues related to depression (exact opposite of her role as Polly Prince). Maybe Chandler from a heart attack.

Re: Friends
There was a discussion somewhere about which Friend would be the most likely to be the murderer if the cast was put in a scary movie - I think it was Le Batard. For some reason, NO ONE said Monica, which is the only answer.

Re: Friends
Also the last episode aired in 2004. It's one of those shows that's strongly associated with a particular time but went on far longer than people remember. Sort of like how Happy Days lasted until 1984.

Chandler would be the first to die and I'd bet Matthew Perry is absolutely the first to die in "real life".

Re: Friends
I voted Chandler thinking it was real-life. On the show, it's absolutely Joey. Either heart attack or AIDS.

Monica would kill all the men and then stage their bodies in a real-life foosball display where the referee is a cardboard cutout of her fat high school self.

Show: Ross, heart attack or suicide.
Real Life: Perry.
And in real life, Matt Leblanc is supposed to be unnaturally chill. He lives to 97.

If you watch the show "Episodes," he plays a very funny version of himself.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 11:14 am Show: Ross, heart attack or suicide.

Re: Friends
I'm in the wheelhouse, but I was much much more of a Seinfeld guy.
My wife LOVES Friends and will queue it up once and while. I walk past and chuckle at some joke..and she'll say "See, it's funny!" Well sure, it's a sitcom with jokes...there are parts that are funny.
Also, I really hate David Schwimmer.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Re: Friends
I'd be curious about his career if he was never cast on the show because you can't separate him from Ross. "Ross playing Robert Kardashian", etc.
Re: Friends
He's basically the same guy in Band of Brothers.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Re: Friends
I wasn't a Friends fan when it was on, but that's more because I found half of them to be annoying pricks. And unlike say Always Sunny, they weren't funny enough or got their comeuppance enough to justify it.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.
Re: Friends
No exaggeration, it's a source of great joy between my wife and I for the various inside jokes our love of that show has spawned. Plus we one the Gellar Cup at a Friends trivia contest last year. I agree with many of the criticisms of the show, but they all seem kinda too deep for what's a 22-minute escape from reality. Anyway, I think it holds up great which is very rare for sitcoms from that time period.
