Chris Toth is a two-time Goalie of the year in the Major Arena League Soccer. However his dad Zoltan Toth had 1 cap for the Hungarian national team and several hundred indoor soccer appearances over his 12 year career (mostly with the San Diego Sockers).

I caught some of Monday's game against Bonaire, and whooof... Bonaire was just painful to watch.

And it pissed me off seeing them in their awesome jerseys, because I spent a considerable amount of time down there trying to track one down and people kept looking at me like I had third eye on my forehead. THEY EXIST, people.

Can't compete with Mexican beach soccer training methods which include having to dodge hundreds of people selling trinkets, hats, sunglasses and hair braiding.

Much like the college recruitment stuff I got from Bowdoin and Middlebury. All the pictures were kids in shorts throwing frisbees on lawns. You can take Swiss beaches for this tournament. I will support Tahiti and Portugal.

The Swiss took this one 8-6. USA was scrappy but the Swiss were just a better team. US yanked their starter before the 3rd period

Other results
Italy 12, Tahiti 4

Paraguay 4, Japan 5

The highlights were fun. And GK goal for the Swiss! Not uncommon, I assume?

DVR a game on FS2. It is 3 12 minute periods so fits nicely into a 45-60 minute window. Goes quick and lots of action.

No walls on free kicks, goalie tends to be the point guard on the offense. They look like they have to be able to juggle pretty well as the ball comes to the them and they distribute in the air for a chest trap straight to a overhead kick. Also shots off the uneven sand come into play.

I saw that on one of the Swiss goals. It looked like he purposely drove the free kick in such a way that it would deflect off the sand.

Basic rules explanation for anyone else interested

The DJ for the beach world cup is fantastic. A mix of rap, rock, and latin hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. However, it is weird to have a international world championship to the sounds of "cause I was high".
