Think United might be interested in Otamendi next year to replace Maguire for those tougher matchups? Not that City would necessarily need the sale money anymore ; )

To be fair about my joke, Wan Bissaka didn’t even try to head that in with Maguire all over him.

Yep, and it shouldn't have been. Goals like that really can't go in. What a bed shitting by teams 3-5 this weekend.

Yeah, he's putting the fear of Yahweh in anyone that has to cover him, which creates that fraction of a bit of space that allows for the types of plays highlighted in this thread.

The book on him early was close him down, hit him hard, don't give him room to breath. But he's getting much better about creating that space within the Chelsea system now. He just needs to get a defender iso'd and backing up and it's pretty much over right now.

I'm not saying I could have defended that better, but I think I could have reacted just as late and hopelessly as the blonde boy did. Look at where the ball is when he finally flicks his foot out.

Cantwell can't really defend well.

When your target is the meaty French forehead of Olivier Giroud, yes, everyone can hit the target. He is so damned good with the quick changes of direction and speed. He makes it looks so effortless and makes defenders look horrible. So much fun to watch him taking off after a bit of a rocky start then the injury when he finally got going. Best part about Operation Restart is watching Pulisic, at least as an Arsenal fan.

There are times as a goalie where I would make what is called a token effort dive on a shot I knew had beaten me before I left my feet.* That's what that guy did at the end there. He was thoroughly beat, but he did the little hop-stab motion so it won't look so bad on film. (It's going to look real bad on film.

* - Standing like a statue as a ball hits the back of the net, unless it's an absolute blast from close range, is about the worst for a goalie. But you can tell when a guy is throwing out a token. It's kind of fun to watch for...

I know you are just picking on me, but I found this more impressive. Clean beat of a defender who is in position to a dangerous cross that he dropped to Giroud was "Quarterback style". Guess defender should have taken away his right foot on this one.

Pulisic thinks he can beat anyone right now. His confidence is through the roof. Only bummer is we don't have a target date when we will see him in the USMNT kit.

Agreed. I mean, I obviously love Bruno, but I definitely love CP more. I think.

Is Peacock a pay channel? I heard Rebecca Lowe say that in honor of the launching of Peacock, all games will be on Peacock commercial free. I wanted to record the game, so this seems like a bad thing.

ETA: Looks like a free streaming service, but not available on my TV or through my cable provider, so probably no way to watch other than live. Oh well, not much difference between 7th or 10th place.

From What I've briefly read, there is a free channel, channel with ads ($5) and no ads ($10).

Can't imagine I'll be able to DVR it and watch in the evening which pissed me off

I downloaded the Peacock app to my iPad so I can watch today's games. But I doubt I will use it long-term.

I've definitely seen it in the Prem before. Like 10-15 years ago. Wanna say one of the older US guys did too, (I'm thinking Freidel or Keller).

I think Mark Schwarzer was rocking a baseball cap while goalkeeping a couple of years ago.

I know that at one point it was officially not allowed. The reasoning I was given is that the brim could be an injury hazard. Those shorter brimmed bicycle hats were deemed ok.

I did a scan of the FIFA rules, they are not explicitly banned. It really is the ref's call.
