Cute kitties man.

Really hoping my parents get a cat next year. They’ve been cat people for at least as long as they’ve been rass people but it’s been a couple of years since their last one passed and they have yet to get a new one.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Good lookin’ dog! It’s always funny to see a month-old puppy with disproportionately large paws, and then they grow into them.

That's great. Reminds me... I was at the pet food store yesterday and fell in love with the dog that was with the person behind me in line to pay.

It was an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees. 85 pounds and full of puppy energy. The owner said her vet predicted he'd grow to over 150 pounds. Whoa. Unfortunately, I'm too old for my next dog to be that big.

I love the breed, but they can be difficult. They have a tendency to like to escape and go on adventures. Our neighbor had a GP husky mix that escaped all the time. I once came home from work to find him very slowly strolling down the middle of the street. I went after him, but his favorite game is to get chased. His weakness, if you kneeled and open your arms, he'd come running. Every time. You could see him fight the urge. I had to hook his collar and rub his belly until his owner came home. I miss that dog. He was batshit crazy, as he was found as a stray puppy. He got comfortable with me as a puppy, but he was really unstable towards men he didn't know, and overly excited and playful towards kids. At 95 pounds, that was problematic. Something happened, and I was afraid to ask, but they ended up putting him down. Actually, I posted a picture of him once, with his head stuck in a ball return net.

Ha ha. I can relate. We have three cats. Two of them will let me trim their claws. But once, the other one literally shredded a dress shirt I was wearing after I started an attempt at nail trimming.

Our dog will tolerate my wife trimming her claws, as long as she is receiving copious amounts of treats while it is occurring!

This one's not about dogs. Or, cats.

My friend's son down the street owns a pot bellied pig. Thing weighs nearly 200 pounds. They have left town for a few days and drafted me to feed and clean up after the pig. He's got a great little heated pig house in their back yard. So, I go over twice a day and feed him, give him clean water and shovel up a bit of poop. I might give him a little beer, too, as he loves the stuff. Gotta watch out though. He's got little tusks and he is a bit of an asshole. He'll ram you just for the hell of it.

This isn't him, but it's a picture I got of the inner webs that looks like him.

Not here to tell you what to do but if you causally let drop that you have access to a beer drinking pig and also expect to remain a swamper in good standing then you need to provide more content than a fucking GIS.

Ha ha. The pig's name is Iz. (You may be familiar with his namesake - the fat Hawaiian singer named Iz.) Iz loves beer. His owner is my friend's son, who lives over in Pescadero, a farm town on the coast. The son is staying at a friend's temporarily, so my friend has the pig.

Background: So, my friend Ben lives a block away from me. We worked together for 20 years. Now, we drink beer together. I regularly walk down to his place. He sets up a couple of patio chairs on his front lawn and lets Iz out to root around and roam a little bit while we quaff a couple. Neighborhood kids and their parents come by and ooh and aah when they see him. He's not a very friendly pig, but since I've been by his home many times, he recognizes me. At some point in the proceedings, Iz is sure to come up to us and stick his nose in the way, which is his way of demanding beer. Ben gave him a bit once on a lark, and now Iz has become a confirmed beer lover. So, Ben pours a little in his bowl, or on the driveway, if he is being lazy, and we all drink together. Ben has a little plastic switch that he uses to direct the pig. He never hits him, but a little tap keeps him in line. If Iz even sees it in your hand, he behaves. Because Iz knows me, I volunteered to watch him while Ben and his wife went to Sonoma for a few days. This evening, I gave him a snort of the Stone IPA I was having. I think I'll go buy a sixer of something cheap tomorrow for him.

So, here are a couple of pictures of the real Iz (not some internet imposter like on the other post.) My friend is pouring out the remnants of our bottles for him on their driveway.

The wording of this bothers me. 'Access.' You make it sound like sancarlos would only have one reason to befriend this pig. (And really, even if his intentions are impure, as long as Iz consents, there shouldn't be an issue here. I'm happy for you, sancarlos.)

So, what kind of beer does Iz prefer? Is he into IPAs? Or is he more of a stout pig? Is he going to turn his nose up when you show up with a six-pack of Coors Light tomorrow?

The dog rescue where I volunteer does an annual event field day event and 100s of people who adopted bring their dogs. One year someone brought a similar looking pig, but he was super friendly. It was crazy, but the pig acted just like a dog. He ran up to every dog and tried to play. They walked him on a leash, and he would go up to every person walking past looking to get pet. My daughter was 6 or 7 years old, and she went nuts over this pig.
