1.) CBS All Access to watch the games..$6/month but 30 day trial...and you get some Startrek spinoffs
2.) US Youth Konrad de la Fuente made the game day roster for Barca tomorrow v. Napoli (9 Barca B-players called up because Barca has all kinds of roster turmoil right now). In the roster depth chart he is behind Messi, Griezmann, Suarez and Ansu. Did a great job in the 3rd division playoff and has been training with the first team
3.) Some interesting 2nd round games before we enter the 1 game knockout mini-tournament.
Lol. Maybe when he's 25?

That is for the game tomorrow. Basically he is getting the game day sit on the bench for 90 minutes reward for working hard at the end of this year, but he is not going to see the pitch unless he earned the token extra time appearance.

Wow. That's pretty harsh. But in his one year at Chelsea, he pissed off a lot of folks. He's successful, but very inflexible in his strategies and formation and he just seems to rub some folks the wrong way.

I wonder if Ronaldo said 'yeah...dump this guy'. As great as Ronaldo is, he's 35 and probably doesn't want to play his last couple of years with a guy as inflexible as him.

That's what I think too. Ronaldo isn't used to losing before the quarterfinals of the UCL and Sarri isn't changing anything for anyone, not even Ronaldo.

Nice piece, thanks for sharing that.

I adopted Atalanta as my Serie A team 2 years ago after my original choice, Palermo, was sanctioned down to the beer leagues (Palermo was among a group of my original foray into Euro league teams along with Norwich, Lorient, Malaga and Wolfsburg. All were relegated within a few years except Wolfsburg who have came close to both ends of the table). I've really enjoyed watching their games but didn't know a ton about the club or city other than a skimming of the wikipedia pages of each to make sure they weren't like the Cleveland Browns of Itallian football or something. I'm a sucker for stories about sports teams and the community they represent having their identities completely intertwine with each other.

i'm so old I remember Altalanta losing to non-league Merthyr in the Cup Winners Cup

https://gentlemanultra.com/2016/12/23/m ... ble-upset/

Match winner Ceri Williams "joined Merthyr in 1985 on a deal which saw him paid £10 and two pints a game, while he worked during the day in the tarmac trade."

With the added bonus that Atalanta is a really fun team to watch.

And they're playing one of the most reprehensible clubs in the world.

Really not fair that Atalanta has played 10 or so games in a month and PSG hasn't had a league game since March.

All the Serie A stuff I've been reading and listening to say that Sarri's tactics at Juve were far different than they were at Chelsea. Basically everything was played through CR7. And if you do look at the goal-scoring stats they bear that out. Not much spread.

Love the fact that Adams and Co are the first team to knock out Simeone's Atletico from CL that did not have C Ronaldo.

Wow, 8-2! Now I don't feel quite so bad about the 7-1 thrashing they gave Chelsea over two games. They dominated Chelsea in both games in a way that no other teams did all year, including Liverpool and Man City. I'd be pretty surprised if anyone beats Bayern. (and I thought that even before they thrashed Barca).

I should like Barcelona. I really should, given many of my personal ideals and persuasions. But I just can’t, largely due to the way many of their fans have interacted with others through the years. So that yesterday was quite enjoyable.

Funniest fact about the rest of the CL is if Bayern go on to win Barcelona must pay Liverpool €5mm as part of Coutinho’s transfer. It’s written such that if HE is on a CL winning team they pay the bonus.
