NFL 2019 week 1 - the fuck AB?

It got crazy in the bar last night...haven't acted that way in a very long time. Lost my sunglasses when I tore my shirt off in front of a Saints fan after the TD because he lapped the bar a couple times after they went up 24-21. Then he freaked out after the missed PAT, then we freaked out again after the penalty. Then they freaked out in the end. We all hugged it out.

The best part was after realizing I just did that in a bar, I looked back and two of my buddies were right behind me doing the same thing. High-fives all around. So much fun.

I've read Hill's article and she makes a lot of good points. However I think shes only looking at the top elite athlete aspect, not the overall school aspect.

But if you're planning to be a scientist or doctor, youd want to go to the best schools. HBCUs dont have the resources yet. Maybe black graduates of the best schools can one day come back to fund or teach.

You don't need but so much to excel in sports. Pretty much a great coach and everything else works itself out so long as you've got the talent. Some of the private HBCUs do have serious financial questions (pay my bill assholes!) but there are plenty of state HBCUs and if those don't have the resources then there are some serious questions to be asked of your legislators.

And yeah if I want to be a wall street banker then I might not go the HBCU route but I'm quite sure those schools still put out a lot if not most black doctors and scientists. But it is a monumental failure that an HBCU hasn't been in a final four. Even today, all you need is 2-3 of the right guys and you're there. Could ride that forever. The path is there since MEAC gets an automatic bid. Just find two guys. Kind of absurd really.

Not to be cynical but guys at that level care more about marketing than politics. And I can’t blame them. They’re 18. Too bad Bobby Seals’ kids didn’t turn out to have LeBron or Kevin Garnett’s genetic gifts.

And you can’t totally compare basketball to other sports. There’s enough tape against decent competition in basketball hat you can see the talent easier than in football.

The college thing was pointing out that generational players like Zion and LeBron could have gone to JUCO schools even and still be drafted #1. Going to Howard or Grambling would be 10 steps up from that.
