Well, we'll never know honestly. But I'm sure I'd be more Hasan Minhaj is front of Sean Duffy then not. (And you can call bullshit on that too.)

It's honestly not that difficult to be a pain in the ass when testifying. It happens all the time, just not when the stakes are so high and when so many people are watching.

It's not like a courtroom where a judge bangs a gavel and starts giving you shit for not strictly answering questions and nothing else.

Just think back to how Corey Lewandowski behaved. There's not a lot they can do about it.

Sondland won't admit he actually heard trump say quid pro quo. So I think he's trying to throw everyone else under the bus but stay buddies.

I love that Sondland paid $1 million to get an ambassador position, and it landed him in legal jeopardy of perjury, forcing him to admit his corruption on live Congressional hearings to impeach his King. Fucking beautiful. Begs the question for the thousandth time, why the fuck would anyone work for Trump? Guaranteed he will coerce you into committing crimes, and he ends up turning on everyone eventually. "All the best people" all turned out to be crooks, liars, Never Trumpers, "terrible people I never knew"... How do Trumpers not see that every appointee ends up being a horrible person per Trump. yet they don't see a problem with Trump's inability to hire or vet appointees?

I don't think Sondland has been very helpful to anyone once his statement was finished.

I'm getting closer to being convinced that unless the whistleblower comes out, this will end up amounting to nothing.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly with that. But it's definitely not been the slam dunk that people were expecting after his prepared statements. The argument can be made that the repeated pounding that the GOP gave about him never hearing directly from Trump is going to be a big talking point and it will be interesting to see if it's as loud as his "there was a quid pro quo."

What I’m most concerned about is polling that supports removing Trump from office. Last weekend it was at 51%. If that spikes? Couple that with the beat down the GOP will face next November with Trump tethered to their brand? Yowza.

The fact that he said there was a quid pro quo is going to be what dominates, because the reality is that everything else he is saying backs up the fact that he was operating under the clear direction of Pompeo, who was way more involved than previously known.

Sure, durr hurr is going to fall in line. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows Trump was directing all this.

Just like it's ridiculous to claim Michael Cohen was off bribing playmates and porn stars on some rogue mission.

No one fucking buys that shit. Durr hurr crowd excepted, as always.

But, the GOP Senators will play to the Hurr Durr crowd, vote to acquit, and Trump will run on a platform of "I was acquitted by the Senate which proves this was all a witch hunt by the dirty Dems." I fear swing voters who don't fucking pay attention or understand any of this will be swayed by that, and vote Trump because they are sick of partisan politics.

I think it was Seth Meyers, but someone had a great analogy. Trump released transcripts of other calls with Zelensky where Trump didn't bribe/extort/offer quid pro quos as proof he is innocent; it's like if Clinton showed a picture of Monica Lewinsky not sucking his dick as proof that he didn't have inappropriate contact with her.

I'm looking at elections in 2018 and 2019, especially the 2019 stuff, that just doesn't think this approach is going to work. Again, it's all very clear to most anyone paying even the slightest attention that what he did was wrong. 70 percent of the people polled just stipulated to that. 51 percent saying he should be removed.

Of course the GOP Senate is going to do what we've said they would for a year now. GOOD. They are constructing their own gallows, man.

Trump at the top of the ticket should be what the Dems want at this point I’d say. He’s a lead weight around the entire GOP.

Yeah, to put a finer point on what I was saying to Syb, the 2019 stuff Trump came in and tried to make it about impeachment about "sending the right message."

Didn't really work very well for the GOP.

Wait, you understand we're saying that "generic Republican dipshit" is way more electable than Trump right now, right?

Of course I'd take Romney in the White House over Trump, theoretically. We're talking about winning in 2020, not the best worse case scenario.

I think I'm missing something.

Well, I think Trump as president through 2024 is worst case scenario. But even if he is considered less electable than some other Repub, I really wouldn't want to take the chance of another term of this shit, regardless of the odds.

I guess what I'm saying is Hillary wins against any other candidate in 2016 and I don't see anyone emerging now who I think would beat the Dem nominee. So I think we're agreeing on the question and wildly disagreeing on the answer.
