I don't think it's especially egregious for a sitting President to skip on the funeral of a member of the House, even an especially powerful and tenured one like Cummings.

As noted, his attendance could risk turning it into a sideshow, so just as well he didn't go. (I've been watching it on C-SPAN, it's been very nice.)

(By the way, after watching Bill Clinton's eulogy, there's obviously something not right with him. Some kind of neurological thing.)

he also didn't attend McCain's funeral. Petty disagreements aside, it's not like people die in office every day, funeral I guess sure maybe not attend, but not making an appearance while he's lying in state in the Rotunda? PoS.

Yeah, but didn't McCain leave instructions that he didn't want Trump there?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

That's why I mentioned petty disagreements.

Pence was present in the rotunda for both. Just think that if it's in the Capitol building a president should make the 5-mile round trip.

Man, I hate Trump just like all you guys, but I don't blame him for not attending. He would have been hissed and booed and unwelcome. As somebody else noted, it would have take away from the service and turned it into a sideshow.

You and Trump are both wrong for this! The button is superfluous and Swipe typing is very good...

I typed this whole post via Swipe and only had to go back and correct 3 words.

I’ve gotten quite good at texting on my Apple Watch. And I’m not due for an upgrade for a bit but I’m sure I will be fine with no button. I certainly would never text Tim Apple about it.

Great moment...then we find out he told the Russians but not Pelosi, he tries to make this a bigger deal by downplaying the bin Laden kill, and I'm sure there is more to come.

He's literally tweeted out every criticism he himself has done. It is the most elaborate and self evident list of examples to fill psychology text books from here to eternity.

It wasn't lost on me how he railed about how Baghdadi was whimpering and crying all the way. Those aren't the words of a well-rounded individual. They're the words of a coward (and a cruel one, at that). Something tells me this will be yet another example of where his words prove prescient.

I'm confused... Trump completely destroyed and defeated ISIS over a year ago, how do they still have a leader running around? Why is this significant if they were already defeated? Oh, Trump lied for the past year. No wonder Trump is the only one who can solve our problems, he is the only one who will claim to solve a problem that isn't fixed, or more often, creates a problem and proclaims savior status by undoing his act that created the problem in the first place.

As for Obama deserving credit for killing Bin Laden, during the election, Obama said he would go into Pakistan to get bin Laden if he had intel showing his location. The RIght and McCain railed against this, called him a liar, and said nobody would make that call. After the backlash, he deserved to gloat, and I don't think he tried to steal the glory. Not to mention, Bush should have gotten Bin Laden, but he farmed it out to the locals and fucked it up.

If you read 1984, the people who follow Trump literally act in the same way as Syme every single time.

Whenever a new truth is enacted, the previous truth is discarded and not a single question based in logic can change their mind.

It's doubleplusungood that propaganda is such a powerful weapon.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has long called on Democrats to hold a vote formally opening an impeachment inquiry. But McCarthy did not welcome the news of Thursday’s planned vote. Instead, he accused Pelosi and other Democrats of “backtracking” on the matter.

“It’s been 34 days since Nancy Pelosi unilaterally declared her impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy said in a tweet. “Today’s backtracking is an admission that this process has been botched from the start. We will not legitimize the Schiff/Pelosi sham impeachment.”

So here comes the Clown Show to smear this guy:

Who Is Alexander Vindman? A Ukrainian Refugee Who Will Testify in Impeachment Inquiry
Alexander S. Vindman and his twin brother, Yevgeny, were 3 years old when they fled Ukraine with their father and grandmother, Jewish refugees with only their suitcases and $750, hoping for a better life in the United States.

In the 40 years since, he has become a scholar, diplomat, decorated lieutenant colonel in the United States Army and Harvard-educated Ukraine expert on the White House National Security Council.

On Tuesday, his past and his present will converge, when he becomes the first sitting White House official to testify in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump’s dealings with the country of his birth.
Its already started...with Laura Ingraham, John 'Torture Memo' Yoo, and Ex-Congressman/Real World Alum/No Condom Wearing Sean Duffy...

Good luck smearing a war vet with a purple heart, featured in Ken Burns' "America" talking about the special meaning of the Statue of Liberty as an immigrant from the USSR.

I mean, they will certainly carry the day smearing this guy on Fox, the 75-80 percent of the rational world will see right through it.

We all have to remember that fact. Just because 25-30 percent can be brainwashed, the vast majority of the country can't/won't be.
