Man, I just don't want to do the work, but I'd love to see the total numbers when it comes to quarterbacks that started the season at QB1 & QB2 (and QB3, if applicable) plus QBs picked up, dropped, and promoted based on injuries.

This season has had a bunch of QBs get injured already and just now they are making a spectacle of Colin Kaepernick being available? Seems so weird.

I'm just assuming this is either to avoid a lawsuit or some claim from the Player's Association. It just smells like their hand is forced.

To be fair, Kaepernick already settled a lawsuit. I’m not sure he can sue again. Either way, it is a sham though.

My first thought is that this was a part of the settlement and the NFL schedules it for a Saturday.

What a particularly thuggish performance by the Cleveland D tonight.

Other than Chubb and Landry, there is nothing at all likeable about that team.

Yet still I waste evenings watching them play in absolutely abysmal football games.

The NFL is completely sabotaging Kaepernick...

(From ESPN)
Former NFL head coach Hue Jackson will lead the drills during quarterback Colin Kaepernick's scheduled workout in Atlanta on Saturday, and former NFL head coach Joe Philbin will be in attendance to assist, the league announced Thursday.

Holy fucking shit, y'all. That was fucking NUTS.

That's very similar to the Dino Ciccarelli and Marty McSorley criminal charges situation. Swinging a weapon goes beyond sport.

FWIW, all the Browns people are saying the right thing.

He's gotta be done for the season. That was unbelievable.

Browns poised to make a run, and with 5 seconds left in the game and he pulls that bullshit?

Again, fuck that guy.

And I posted this.

I stopped watching with 5 minutes left and just now saw this play.

Garrett - 8 games?

Ogunjobi - 2?

Randall - 2?

Fuck this team.

Ogunjobi is interesting here. He's like a WWE heel at that point. Did did he see the helmet drubbing, or just assume the QB was being an instigator.

I kind of agree with the idea of 2 games there, in the sense that in the moment, giving him the benefit of the doubt, he was just knocking a QB over. But, fuck, it sure seems like he saw the context and just took a cheap shot, so, as I type.. Not sure 2 is enough.

I think the league is going to take a harsh stand. That was fucking Rollerball level shit.

And it was the 2nd last fucking play of a game they won against the STEELERS for God's sake!!

Only this team, this misbegotten franchise could cap off a big win against a hated (and far superior) rival with horseshit that leaves their fans with a rancid taste in their mouths.

Wrong. Lots of quotes reiterating this same exact sentiment. It’s a little late and I have to paint tomorrow but would you like me to compile them for you eventually or are you good?

Sorry if the rest of the Browns aren't flagellating themselves to your satisfaction. Maybe Baker Mayfield should commit seppuku on live TV before Sunday Night Football.

The only silver lining is that the law of averages suggests there's going to be someone in the media somewhere that suggests that Garrett's act was somehow justified and he should only be suspended for a game or two, such a blisteringly hot take that the universe might finally collapse in upon itself.

Went to bed after Mason Rudolph threw that unforgivable INT (seriously, not sure how he'll ever get his teammates or the fans back on his side after that) and the Browns subsequently made it 21-7. What'd I miss?

Not even Whitlock went there, so I'm not sure we'll be so lucky.

ETA - Nevermind! Thanks OJ.

I knew something bad happened when the local sports radio station was talking PIT/CLE when I turned on the car this morning.

The funniest I keep reading this morning (and no offense non linear) is so many people insisting that the Browns were mere seconds from turning around their season last night.

All J-Lo is saying is that sometimes you have to stand up, in unison, and unambiguously say the right thing even if it goes against a teammate, just like all the Steelers did after Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault or like all the Steelers did after Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault a second time.

I'm not going to go all into this, because obviously there should be a bunch of suspensions and Garrett was inexcusable. But Baker Mayfield's on-field interview literally minutes after it happened was pretty great, IMO. There's nothing a player wants less than to "hurt the team" so while you think it's Baker deflecting some aspect of it via sportspeak, I think it's a strong call out.

Yeah, I stayed up for 45 minutes watching all the coverage and both Mayfield and #53 (Browns LB with 2 INTs) were both saying that it was inexcusable on the field, minutes after it happened.

Those guys are coached on what to say and what not to say in those situations (where fines/suspensions are possible) and you pretty much never hear anything like that.

BTW, rass, I'm completely neutral, not quite sure what you're referring to above.

Mayfield's full 45-second comment last night after the game was the most and best leadership he's displayed in Cleveland.
