Kind of semi-related, but I sure wonder about the expertise of that venture capital firm that partnered with The Rock in buying the carcass of the XFL. I'd like to see the business case that supported that decision.
$15M for the rights to use logos, likenesses, and game footage in Ballers may be a great deal

I’d wager against that.

Really good MGoBlog piece about COVID and college football specifically, but also the reality of life in the times of COVID generally.

Shit... Get out of my brain. Finished that minutes ago.

Also entertaining from last week was a clip of Desmond Howard on Nebraska... paraphrase: Demand an apology and at the same time look for ways to get their ass out of the B1G.

Seriously, that group of chuckleheads. The conference doesn't really need the Lincoln/Omaha juggernaut TV market. And they're not exactly burning up one of the weaker divisions in P5 football.

I'd be more surprised by white college football coaches who didn't follow the Fox News brigade.

Kirk is probably my favorite OSU alum. Have to say... That was a little weird, TBH. I'm all for the sentiment, but... Like... I dunno. How is this hitting you in the feels at this point? Like, you're just now getting a lump in your throat over this?

Must of us are just numb, having processed and grieved on this for many months, if not years.

I guess it's the first time he's been on the GameDay "set," so his emotions got sideways on him?

Again, not trying to give him shit, I just found it an odd moment.

Apparently, the Herbstreit comments are a reaction to a 9 minute piece that Maria Taylor did with players about racism. That helps explain the rawness of his emotions. Really good piece by Deitsch at the Athletic about it.

I think history is going to judge the conferences who postponed very well. It’s already been a shitshow with cancellations, outbreaks, etc. As soon as one of these kids has their career ended from a heart or lung issue (Or God forbid, dies) the wolves will turn on the teams that played knowing the risks.

The internet vids of Tallahassee yesterday make me think there's no way the season gets finished.

They're going to stink this year, but Syracuse is a winner because Florida State fell off their schedule in the overhaul. It was a home game in mid-November, but still.

NCAAFB folks I pay attention to were somewhat high on FSU being a bit of a surprise good team this year. Lulz, same old same old.

Other thread to pick at... This was a calculated move to "get it out of the way" and not have to do anymore testing for 90 days. There are other schools that seem to be INCREDIBLY lax, which given the amount of control colleges have over their players, is pretty suspect.

Lawyers figured out a way to avoid responsibility in event of a lawsuit.
